Even the virtues of diligence can become the cause of omniscience, but this is only through indirect means, not directly. Because if one has not yet separated from the view of self, the true path to liberation will not arise. And the reason why it does not arise is because it is defiled by the inverted view. Therefore, in the self-commentary, it says: 'It will not immediately become a limb of perfect enlightenment,' the meaning of 'immediately' is that it needs to go through other means in between. Therefore, if one wants to make offerings and benefit others, then the things that are given should also be given in a way that the three circles are pure, so that it will become a place of rejoicing for those who are wise. Because knowing the truth as it is and practicing accordingly is the root of virtue without ignorance. Regarding this, the 'Collection of Righteous Dharmas' says: 'World Honored One, not seeing all dharmas is seeing the truth.' And the 'Three Hundred Verses of the Mother of the Victorious Ones' says: 'Subhuti, what do you think? Is it easy to measure the sky in the east?' Subhuti replied: 'World Honored One, it is not.' From here, until 'Subhuti, similarly, the accumulation of merit of a Bodhisattva who gives without dwelling on anything is also not easy to measure.' Thus it is said. Again, in the same sutra, it says: 'Subhuti, it is like this: just as a person with eyes enters the darkness and sees nothing, so should one look at a Bodhisattva who gives alms while clinging to things as real. Subhuti, it is like this: just as when dawn breaks and the sun rises, a person with eyes can see various forms, so should one look at a Bodhisattva who gives alms without clinging to things as real.' Thus it is said. Second, to summarize the meaning of praising the truth of the two truths as such. It is divided into two parts: establishing the tradition of the two-truth chariot, and praising it. The first part is divided into two parts: establishing the conventional truth and establishing the path of the union of the two truths. The first part: 'Even that which becomes cause and effect is only knowledge. Whatever is established by itself, that abides in knowledge.' Thus it is said. So, like this, the dependent arising that becomes cause and effect
