Because of knowing that it is only these, and there is not even a little bit of establishment by its own nature, just like mistaking a rope for a snake, the self-grasping will disappear. The parts of dust and many moments are actually contradictory to the object of clinging of innate self-grasping, therefore, knowing and being accustomed to these being empty of self, the self-grasping will disappear from the root. Just because of this, they see liberation from afflictions, and the Lesser Vehicle practitioners do not seek or cultivate non-self on all other phenomena, therefore there is no manifestation. Without it, there is also no abandonment of the afflictive obscurations and cognitive obscurations to be abandoned. Therefore, as long as the aggregates, continuity, and collection of one's own mindstream are not separated by wisdom, they are called "I" and clung to. If these aggregates have not been broken down into many parts and destroyed by wisdom, then it is impossible to realize the non-self of persons. Because the cause of clinging to self is based on the aggregates. In the "Garland of Jewels," it is said: From the perspective of the Hearers, the aggregates are the nature of many gatherings, therefore, the reason for being meaningless in the ultimate sense is explained. In the sutra spoken for the Hearers, it says: Form is like a mass of bubbles. Like the meaning of these and so on, realizing that the aggregates themselves are established on many parts will perfect the non-self of persons. Moreover, in the auto-commentary of the "Entering the Middle Way," in the aspect of "This non-self is for the liberation of beings," it says: Among them, the non-self of persons is taught for the liberation of the Hearers, and both are taught for the Bodhisattvas to attain omniscience. The Hearers and Solitary Realizers also only see the dependent arising and conditions, even so, they do not fully cultivate the non-self of phenomena, they only have a method to abandon the afflictions that are practiced in the three realms. It is established that they have cultivated all the non-self of persons. The scripture spoken like this can also determine that the Hearers and Solitary Realizers do not fully realize the non-self of phenomena. If it is not a complete realization of the non-self of phenomena, then afflictions will not be abandoned, so if the Hearers have not fully cultivated it, how can they abandon afflictions? These two are the same in going and returning. The reason is also that the way to abandon afflictions only by the non-self of persons is in the "Commentary on Valid Cognition" and the "Collection of Reasoning".

As taught, it is vast, and even if the selflessness of phenomena is not fully realized, there is realization of it, which is established by the reasoning of the sevenfold chariot, etc. It is also established that by familiarizing with it, great clarity will arise. Moreover, in short, if the causes of special means, such as limitless assemblies, are not complete, then special realization will definitely not arise. Where the causes are complete, special realization such as the wisdom of the first ground will arise. When it arises, know that there is also no eliminable portion of it. If one is free from the eliminable, then the qualities of its portion will also be complete. These three are definitely the same in all aspects of following and reversing. If it is not like that, then there will be many possibilities, such as any one of them existing and any one of them not existing. If that is the case, then for the opponent who says that each of the situations such as having abandoned all that is to be abandoned but not having realized all that is to be realized is possible, it will be impossible to correctly refute them through the path of the reasoning of reality, so it is difficult to accept that. In short, if the Hearers and Solitary Realizers have a complete realization of the selflessness of phenomena, then it will be difficult to overcome the harm of all the scriptures and commentaries, and hundreds of reasonings. The qualities of the path and fruit, such as the path of seeing of the Great and Small Vehicles, are like the difference between clarity and non-clarity in the sun and the firefly. Know that the difference also enters into the light of wisdom of realization on which they rely. In this way, just showing the key points of reasoning is enough for the intelligent. It is difficult to wash away those with clinging views. In general, this kind of content is the vast content of the three vehicles' path sequence. If one must regard this method as the views of the two great chariots, etc., being contradictory, then it will be like a thorn in the heart. In any case, the key points of the views of the great chariots, like sprinkling sugar, honey, and ghee powder on dried fruit, can be digested together happily. There is neither saliva for wanting to say bad things about others, nor is there a need to envy the views of others. If one can be comfortable in one's own place, then for those who hear and think, it is a supreme gain, just as it says, "Even if others are not satisfied, my heart is comfortable." Ho! Followers of the translators of the three, Abbot, Master, and Dharma King, since there are so many immaculate words of the Buddha, and the good treatises of the later translators, including the Six Ornaments.
