It is merely the nature itself. Now, it is also necessary to generate the non-conceptual wisdom of equipoise. Like that, when all the ways of clinging to non-conceptuality, free from elaboration, and equality, which are beyond the conceptualization of existence and non-existence, disappear, then one is also separated from the two extremes of elaboration, which are clinging to existence by name and non-existence by nature. At that time, all the views that cling to extremes disappear, and one will definitely abandon all views. Therefore, the views that eliminate the gross, subtle, and extremely subtle extremes, the former views become the basis for the latter views, and ultimately reach freedom from elaboration, becoming a view that is in accordance with the reality that cannot be separated from it. Therefore, (as it is said in the scriptures:) "Existence and non-existence, these two are extremes." etc., one should understand how to apply the wisdom of equipoise without duality and the wisdom of subsequent discrimination to the two extremes, gross and subtle, that are to be eliminated. Third, the benefits of realizing in this way are three: the benefit of realizing the ultimate nature of emptiness, the benefit of realizing the conventional ability to function and appear, and the benefit of familiarizing oneself with the union of the two. First, (as it is said in the scriptures:) "The wise who are skilled in the selflessness of phenomena, through familiarizing themselves with selflessness, will abandon the afflictions arising from perversion without effort." This means that for those wise ones who have ascertained the truth of selflessness in persons and phenomena such as pots, etc., through correct reasoning and have obtained a definite knowledge free from doubt, by familiarizing themselves with that very selflessness, the afflictions that obscure and bind the mind, which arise from the conceptual thoughts that grasp at the two selves in a distorted way of the reality of things, will naturally be abandoned without any deliberate effort, just like darkness in front of the sun. This is because, for beginners, the clinging to reality is strong due to habituation, while the antidote is unfamiliar, so even if one makes a deliberate effort, one cannot abandon it. But when the antidote becomes strong due to habituation, the antidote will arise without effort, and the object to be abandoned will disappear. Finally, when the object to be abandoned is completely exhausted, the nature of the appearance of all knowable things will become like placing a moist Emblica fruit on the palm of one's hand, where the inside and outside are clearly visible. This can be proven by the power of the thing itself.

Whoever possesses the wisdom of the object, for them, there is not even the slightest obscuration veiling all knowable objects, hence there are no hindrances, and the causes for knowing are complete. For them, the paths are established as the antidotes to be abandoned through reasoning. As the noble Nāgārjuna said: If there is acceptance of things as real, then unbearable attachment and hatred arise, and perverse views are embraced. From that, disputes arise. That is the cause of all views. Without that, afflictions do not arise. Therefore, if that is fully known, views and afflictions are completely abandoned. By what is that known? By seeing dependent arising. The supreme knower has said that what arises dependently is unborn. And so forth. The Moon Lamp Sutra says: They do not truly see what is clung to, what is clung to, and the dharma by which one clings. And so forth. There is no possibility of the abandoned being restored by the antidote. As stated in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: Harmlessness and true meaning, even if one tries to reverse them in their own nature, cannot be turned back, because the mind holds to that side. And so forth. Here, the arrangement of grounds and paths should be understood elsewhere, as is commonly known. To briefly mention the additional meaning of how to abandon what is to be abandoned: The key to abandoning what is to be abandoned through the wisdom of realizing the two selflessnesses is that the great chariots of the Great Vehicle enter without any contradiction in their intentions. Therefore, I will briefly explain their methods. In general, the wisdom of the ten grounds is inconceivable, and the illusions of their reversed abandonments are also immeasurable. Therefore, many methods are taught in the sutras. However, in general terms, the two obscurations, afflictive and cognitive, are definitely numbered and established by the power of reality. Since the supreme goals sought by individuals are liberation and omniscience, the obscurations are also definitely numbered as two in general terms because they are established from the perspective of obstructing those goals, and there is no need to establish anything else. As it is said in the Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes: It shows the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge. There, all obscurations are said to be liberated when they are exhausted. And so forth, in all sutras and treatises.
