This is mentioned as a supplementary explanation. Like this, not only is the establishment of terms generally reasonable, but also the establishment of terms in the manner of speaking within knowledge, this is established by the reasoning of strength, and precisely because of this, it is incompatible with the facts of dependent arising phenomena, and all those who slander the path of cause and effect are completely destroyed, thereby generating a deep-seated conviction in the principle of cause and effect that surpasses other paths. The Hearers and others, who are dominated by hatred for the ultimate truth, say: This view that all phenomena are devoid of inherent existence has the supreme power to obstruct all things such as cause and effect, therefore it is an empowerment of non-existence from the crown of the head. As it is said: Therefore, slandering cause and effect, the wrong view uproots the white dharma, this hail destroys crops, flower of the sky, those who desire good should abandon it far away. They say this because if things have inherent existence, cause and effect are unreasonable, and if they do not, cause and effect are very reasonable, they have not realized this key point, therefore their evil words are also eliminated by this method. Third, concluding with praise. Therefore, the views of permanence and annihilation, are far away from this treatise. Transformation and following, also like seeds, sprouts, shoots, etc. It is said, because if there is no cause, there will be no effect, and if the cause is complete, the appearance of cause and effect that does not reverse is like that, therefore, the view that things are not momentary but permanent, and the view that things are not related to cause and effect but are annihilated. These two kinds of views, know that they do not coexist with the Madhyamaka treatise that truly establishes the two truths, but are far away. For example, just as darkness has no chance in front of light. Moreover, permanence and annihilation arise depending on things, therefore, if there are no things in the ultimate sense, how can there be views of permanence and annihilation? However, in terms of conventional reality itself, there can be no reason for dependent permanence and annihilation, because the former and former causes change momentarily, and the latter and latter effects follow the cause, and when the aggregation of causes is complete, the effect will definitely arise, and there is no interruption between cause and effect. For example,

It is like sprouts growing from seeds, and branches growing from sprouts, and so on. As it is said in the Cloud of Jewels Sutra: "How does a Bodhisattva become skilled in the Great Vehicle? It is when a Bodhisattva studies all the trainings, yet does not fixate on the studying, does not fixate on the path of training, and does not fixate on what is being studied. They also do not fall into viewing it as being cut off by that cause, that condition, and that basis." And again, in that sutra: "Son of good family, here, a Bodhisattva, with correct wisdom, contemplates form, contemplates feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. When contemplating form, they do not fixate on the arising of form, they do not fixate on its origin. They do not fixate on the arising of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, they do not fixate on their origin, and they do not fixate on their cessation. They contemplate it with the wisdom that discerns that there is no arising in ultimate reality, but not in the nature of conventional reality." And so on. Among these, the coarse views of permanence and annihilation are: the belief in permanence as something that is not momentary, and the belief in annihilation as the later aggregates not arising from the present aggregates, or that results do not arise from actions. It is the view of annihilation that holds that even though there is a cause for things, it does not produce its own result. As an antidote to eliminate the evil views of outsiders, which are like a very dangerous precipice: One should hold that things cease momentarily, and that when the cause is complete, the result will definitely arise. Furthermore, holding that the previous moment of the cause ceases is not a view of annihilation, but an antidote to eliminate the extreme of permanence. Holding that the thing of the later moment arises from the cause is not an extreme of permanence, but an antidote to annihilation. Although these two are minds that hold in accordance with the state of conventional reality, they alone cannot properly generate a view that transcends the world. Therefore, one must know that things are without inherent existence. At that time, the views of permanence and annihilation related to this are: holding that things truly exist and that they do not exist even conventionally. The antidote to this is: existing conventionally is the antidote to eliminate the extreme of non-existence, it is not the extreme of existence or the extreme of permanence; the absence of inherent existence is the antidote to eliminate the extreme of existence, although it is not the extreme of non-existence or the extreme of annihilation, those who hold there are the aspects of grasping and being grasped.
