Therefore, if those phenomena that appear consistent and are widely known are taken as the subject of debate (chos can), then this object of terminology for the thing to be proven and the reason that proves it will, without exception, be applied correctly and without error. If the subject of debate (chos can) that arises from disagreements in philosophical views is taken as the basis for argument, then the subject of debate (chos can) that is commonly perceived will not be established, and therefore all reasons will become the basis of the subject of debate (chos can) not being established. In this way, an example that possesses both the thing to be proven and the proving property will also be impossible, and therefore all signs (rtags) will be lost. If there is agreement on the distinctions created by philosophical views, then what is there to argue about? There will be no argument. Even if there is agreement and yet one argues, then one will become someone who refutes without regard for one's own position. Secondly, it is not reasonable to reverse this. If it is not like that, the basis is not established. How should one answer such responses? As it is said, if one does not differentiate between disagreements in views, such as the existence or non-existence of things, and takes the mere appearance of cognition as the subject of debate (chos can), then if it is not like that, the basis of your reason is not established, and the example is not established, etc. How should one answer such responses? One cannot answer. For example, a Buddhist says to an opponent: Sound, the subject of debate (chos can), is impermanent, because it exists as a real entity. Or: A mountain, the subject of debate (chos can), has fire, because it has smoke. Like such statements. If one grasps the specific subject of debate (chos can) created by the opponent's non-Buddhist philosophical system, one must grasp the mountain with parts and the sound that is the quality of space, which is impossible, and therefore the basis of the subject of debate (chos can) is not established. Since it is not established, the sign (rtags) that relies on it is also impossible, like the veins of a rabbit's horn. Therefore, an example that connects to the side that agrees with the subject of debate (chos can) is also impossible, and ultimately, the subject of debate (chos can) to be inferred and the basis of inference, or the reason that establishes it, all arguments will not be established. Therefore, merely the commonly perceived phenomenon, and even for that, if one makes a detailed grasping and establishes terminology, if one examines it as one examined the object of ascertainment and imputation above, then one has attained the essence of reasoning. Secondly, in conventionally refuting arguments, in general, the establishment of what proves and what is to be proven is reasonable, and the establishment of the cause and effect of past and future lives, the dependent arising, is reasonable.

Specifically explained. Thus, there are three points to conclude by praising the freedom from permanence and annihilation. The first point: I do not negate the nature of appearance, Therefore, the establishment of the proof and the proven is not confused. It is said. I do not deny that the appearance of the nature of the objects that appear to the eyes, ears, etc., in common to beings from the wise to the children, is merely interdependent origination. Because if you examine it with wisdom and wisdom, like the trunk of a tree by the water, you can't see the essence at all, so it is not considered to be truly established. Because the meaning of appearance is not blocked, therefore, it eliminates the inverted addition to things, and for the establishment of the non-inverted, the subsequent inference, the reason, and the establishment of the nature of what is to be established or subsequently inferred by that reason, because there is no fault of confusion and confusion in the establishment, it is established that there is no self-nature. The opposite view here is clear by implication, so there is no need to repeat it. That is to say, some people think that "no self-nature" means denying appearance, and if so, then all the establishment of proof and what is to be established will be unreasonable. So think. In this way, in this case and in general all Madhyamaka sects, when it is said that appearance is not denied, it should not be understood as if there is a separate appearance that is not covered by self-empty nature. For example, the moon in the water itself is apparent, but it is empty. It's like there is no emptiness left alone with the appearance. Emptiness does not need to have no appearance because of this. If there is no appearance, then there is no emptiness. Emptiness and appearance, if one does not exist, the other cannot exist. If one exists, the other must exist. The state of existence is like black and white silk threads intertwined, not existing independently of each other, nor alternating in such a way that one disappears and the other appears, but emptiness pervades appearance, and appearance pervades emptiness. If you have a firm belief in the reality that the two can never be separated, and you will not be shaken even if a thousand Buddhas block it, then it means that you have a deep understanding of the Madhyamaka teachings. After that, whether it is the Sutra or Tantra path, as long as you work hard to practice, you can lay a solid foundation. Like this,
