Most of the non-Buddhists say: Karma, body, and mind, all three together, are the cause of samsara. Therefore, harming any one of them will not produce results, just like a seed without water and fertilizer. Therefore, they proclaim that in order to exhaust karma and the body, they practice asceticism. Regarding this, karma cannot be abandoned because it is limitless; if self-grasping is not abandoned, even if karma is abandoned, it will arise again, just like cutting off a branch without cutting the root, which is of no benefit. If self-grasping is abandoned, like a fire that goes out when the firewood is exhausted, it will naturally extinguish itself and does not need to be abandoned separately, so such a path is not a path that reverses samsara. Therefore, the cause of samsara is ignorance, which is not understanding the nature of phenomena, and especially important among them is the innate view of self. As long as it exists, relying on it, afflictions, karma, and suffering will arise, and if it disappears, all of these will not arise, which can be proven by direct perception. Therefore, the root of karma and suffering is affliction, as it is said in the scriptures: "Here, affliction is like a seed, like a naga, like grass, like a tree." And, the root of all afflictions is the view of self, as it is said: "All faults have this as their root." Therefore, can this root be abandoned? The answer is yes, because it is merely fabricated. Therefore, the antidotes to abandoning it, such as love and aversion, can coexist with self-grasping, so there is no contradiction. The wisdom that realizes selflessness is completely opposite to it in all aspects, just like light and darkness. Therefore, truth can eliminate falsehood, so the path to cutting the root of samsara can be proven by direct perception, just like a seed has no beginning, but if it is burned by fire, its end can be seen. Samsara has no beginning, but if one realizes selflessness, the obstacle to the arising of samsara will disappear, and the end can be achieved. Second, regarding the debate on the abandonment of the result and the realization, it is divided into two aspects. First, some non-Buddhists say: Defilement is the nature of the mind, so it cannot be abandoned, and even if it can be abandoned, ordinary beings do not know the method of abandoning it, and even if they know and abandon it, it will arise again like the dirt of the body, so it is unstable. Therefore, the liberation of abandoning defilement cannot be permanently existent.

Impurities are not the nature of the mind, because they are false and sudden, while the nature of the mind is luminosity. Also, because it is known that there is a method to eliminate impurities, which is the realization of selflessness. Since the cause has been eradicated from the root, it will not return, like a fire that has consumed its fuel, therefore liberation is reasonable. Second, the debate on the wisdom of realization is: Some non-Buddhists say that no matter how much one practices emptiness and compassion, etc., it is impossible to become infinite and impossible to become that state. Just as no matter how much one practices jumping, it is impossible to jump infinitely far; no matter how much one boils water, it is impossible to become the nature of fire; no matter how much one melts gold, it will solidify again once it is separated from the condition of fire. They say this. These examples are not analogous, because the practice of jumping relies on direct effort, so it cannot grow continuously, and the strength of the body is limited. But the mind is different, by continuously practicing with the essence of love, etc., it will grow, just like a seed produces a seed, and the nature of the mind is infinite. Boiling water is when the previous water dries up and no longer depends on what it depends on, but the power of the previous mind will make the later mind particularly grow and become that state, just like firewood becomes the nature of fire. The reason why gold solidifies again is because gold itself has the factor of solidifying again. However, the mind does not have the factor of returning to impurities, so it will not return, because it has been eliminated by the antidote, just like burnt wood. Second, specifically, the debate on the wisdom of the all-knowing, the king of all yogic manifestations, the ultimate, is divided into two types: debate on the cause and debate on the result. First, the non-Buddhists say that apart from the eternal, self-born omniscient, it is impossible to newly attain the wisdom of all aspects, because there is no such cause. The answer is that through the means of meditation and compassion, etc., and the wisdom of non-objectification, these two become mutual causes and conditions, and the two wisdoms can be achieved. That is, the wisdom of the great compassion of means and clarity is the proximate cause, and the wisdom of emptiness is the co-emergent condition, thereby producing the wisdom of knowing all. The object of the wisdom of emptiness is the proximate cause,
