It is said that mantras should be recited with mindfulness. That is, all the breaths that flow through the senses such as the eyes and the ends of the hairs are drawn back into the body and controlled. The so-called "life" and "giving," that is, the transformation of the mind's thoughts, both of which must be restrained in order to perform the recitation. Regarding the three truths of recitation, the first is that the mantra abides in fire. What does this mean? In the heart of oneself and the deity in front, on top of the inconceivable, formless, intangible, pure, clear, and immaculate moon mandala. Visualize a harmless, smokeless, delightful nature, and an extremely peaceful flame with extremely beautiful light, and abide within the flame. The second truth is abiding in sound, that is, the continuous abiding of the letters of the mantra, the sound is clear and the pronunciation is accurate, like the sound of a bell, appearing uninterruptedly in the mind, and focusing on it with one mind. It is said that the stable appearance of clarity is the unchanging basis of the mantra, that is, without oral recitation, the essence of the deity, the sound of the mantra, is focused on in the mind. The third truth is the end of sound, that is, the appearance of sound disappears and becomes invisible. The place of disappearance is the boundless Dharmadhatu. How to abandon the appearance of sound? Abandon the place of the appearance of sound, that is, the appearance of the form of letters, and abandon the mental recitation and whispered recitation that make the sound appear. The nature, that is, the appearance of sound, also disappears, becomes invisible, and abides in the meditation on the meaning of peace and primordial non-birth. That is, abandoning all dependence and effort. In short, the four foundations of mantra, the unchanging meditation, are the recitation that does not diminish the limbs, therefore it is called the truth of recitation, and it should be recited in this way. My truth is that I am separated from the play of the aggregates and consciousness, without subject and object, immovable, extremely bright, and clearly experienced by self-awareness. Settle the mind on such a meaning. The truth of the vidya-mantra is to visualize as the deity, first the deity of emptiness, that is, the truth of myself and the deity, the definite understanding of non-duality in the inconceivable Dharmadhatu.

Or generating pride, is the Samadhi of non-appearance. From that state, imagining the sound of the syllables of the mantra of whatever deity, just resounding from the sky, is the deity of sound. From that sound, the form of the syllables of the mantra, appearing in the sky, is the deity of letters. Then, in order to manifest the form of the deity of form, on top of one's own suchness transformed into the shape of a lunar disc, the essence of the deity, the syllables of the mantra, abiding in the sky, those gathered together, like pure mercury mixed with gold powder, from that, oneself and the deity are non-dual, from the nature of becoming one, light radiates, offering to the noble ones, purifying the obscurations of sentient beings, gathering back, further manifesting whatever form of the deity, and generating pride on that, is the deity of form. Then, at the crown of the head, the top of the head, etc., sealing with the mudra of the lineage of whatever deity, making it stable and blessing it, is the deity of mudra. Then, like that deity, each and every part of his body and limbs, also visualizing clearly, and focusing the mind on his marks and signs, and examining this and that, constantly focusing, is the deity of marks and signs. Then, making oneself and the deity non-different, controlling the life force and meditating, finally without effort, naturally manifesting without conceptualization, one abides in Samadhi. Like that, if one knows those three suchnesses, it is said that one can attain accomplishment. The three suchnesses such as fire offering, from the suchness of recitation, as the empowerment of oral instruction, is a special method for accomplishing the mantra's accomplishment. Furthermore, in the sutras such as the Ornament of Clear Realization, three forms of the deity are spoken of, namely letters, mudras, and body images, each of those three also has sound, marks and signs, and appearance as form, this is the aspect of having signs. The letter of the mind of enlightenment, that is, without sound, the formless mudra without marks and signs, and the completely pure deity, without marks and signs, the nature of non-conceptualization, these three are without signs, therefore it is shown as union. Therefore, like that, mainly practice silent recitation, if that alone does not accomplish, then practice whispering recitation, oral recitation is because the breath goes out, not gathering inwards, therefore it should not be done at this time. If that does not accomplish, then oral recitation should be done as it appears in the ritual of each practice method, sound.
