It is for the sake of nirvana. The distinction of abiding permanently is that in the realm of the Hearer's non-residual nirvana, it is exhausted like the extinguishing of a lamp. The Bodhisattva is exhausted in the realm of nirvana, because the Dharmakaya is eternal and unchanging as long as space exists and as long as the limits of sentient beings exist. The unsurpassed distinction is that above the Hearer is the vehicle of the Solitary Realizer, and above that is the Great Vehicle. Above the vehicle of the Bodhisattva, there is no other vehicle that is more particularly supreme than that. Compassionate Bodhisattvas, with the five excellent aspects of wisdom, contemplate form, etc., the mundane and supramundane perfections and impermanence, and closely declare them. When a Bodhisattva thus possesses the complete qualities of the three higher trainings and has obtained the power to be in control of wealth, enjoyment, or all possessions, why do impoverished sentient beings appear as the object of the Bodhisattva's compassion? It is because they see that those sentient beings have karmic obscurations that hinder wealth, for example: A mother can feed her children with milk, but what can a mother do for a child whose mouth is closed? It is said like that. If one sees that cultivating those enjoyments will obstruct the arising of virtuous Dharma, one does not cultivate them. If one has enjoyments, one is not sad, but if one does not have them, sadness appears in one's mind, and if one sees that it harms virtuous Dharma, one does not cultivate them. If one cultivates enjoyments in that place, one sees that relying on them will become the cause of accumulating non-virtuous Dharma. For those with vast intelligence, the absence of wealth turns into virtue; if one is poor, that is nobler than committing sins. If a base person becomes arrogant, the horses of the senses will be confused, and one will become a vessel for irrationality and all poverty. It is said like that. Therefore, if one sees that cultivating enjoyment itself will become a cause of harm to many other sentient beings, it is unreasonable to harm many for the sake of benefiting one, so one does not cultivate it, and therefore impoverished sentient beings appear. Sentient beings' own karma, obscurations, manifestations, etc., and above the harmers.

In order to see things as they are, Bodhisattvas say that one cannot use wealth to enable other sentient beings to obtain enjoyment. Having thus shown the distinction of superior wisdom, ninth, how should one view the distinction of abandonment? The abandonment of Bodhisattvas is the peace that does not abide in samsara and nirvana. Its characteristic is that afflictions are powerless and completely abandoned, and there is no fault, so it does not completely abandon the place of samsara. Such a transformation of place is when wisdom does not distinguish the moment of the self-nature of afflictions, and compassion does not abandon samsara either. Among them, samsara is: the nature of other-dependence, the deluded mind and mental factors, etc., floating on the cliff of birth and death, continuously, this belongs to the aspect of the completely afflicted, the imputed nature of the imputed. Nirvana is the absence of samsara or the imputed, belonging to the completely purified aspect. The place belongs to both of these, it is the basis of liberation and delusion, the nature of other-dependence. Transforming into something else is the nature of other-dependence, the antidote to delusion, if non-conceptual wisdom arises, then all the aspects of the completely afflicted with grasper and grasped will disappear, and the inexpressible completely purified aspect that can be realized by each individual's self-awareness without grasper and grasped will appear. In short, there are six kinds of transformation: In the alaya consciousness, weakening the past habits of afflictions and increasing purity is due to the power of faith, generating the habit of hearing the Dharma, these two abide in the continuum. Therefore, for the side of afflictions, because of hesitation, sometimes a small affliction will arise, and sometimes it will not arise. Transformation after realization is for the Bodhisattvas who have entered the ground, such as the first ground. Until the sixth ground, in equanimity, the suchness appears, and in the subsequent attainment, the non-suchness appears, because it is not without interruption, but alternately abides. Transformation after cultivation is for the remaining obscurations of knowledge, etc. From the eighth ground to the tenth ground, all signs do not appear, and only the suchness appears. The fruit is completely perfect.
