It does not cause one to enter into stinginess; its meaning is that giving is done by its very nature, and it is a word that causes others to enter. How is it that one is exceedingly delighted in giving? If one gives only a few times, it means not giving anything at all, which means giving constantly. How is giving great? If giving is wavering due to distraction, it becomes a thought of having no essence; giving while abiding in equanimity from the Buddha, or also not focusing on giving. How is giving pure? If stinginess is eradicated from its roots. How is giving ultimate? If one does not abide in the extreme of going to peace like a Hearer. How is one the master of giving? If giving is not controlled by the opposing side, such as stinginess. How is giving inexhaustible? If one does not abide in the extreme of inexhaustible Nirvana. After attaining the perfectly complete Buddha, one does not only abide in that state, but gives benefit and happiness to others through emanations. Just as with giving, so too with discipline and so forth, up to wisdom, one should understand them accordingly. How does one possess discipline? If one does not guard even a small amount of discipline, it is because one sees oneself and others as equal, and therefore possesses the discipline of others. How is it killing? If beings are extremely turned away from samsara, it means cutting off the life of samsara forever. How is it taking what is not given? If one takes all sentient beings for oneself without anyone giving them. How is it engaging in sexual misconduct? If one engages in misconduct with desires. How is it lying? If one says that all conditioned things are false dharmas, one speaks falsely about that. How is it slandering? If one abides in the supreme state of abiding in emptiness, it is the way of definitive speech. How is it speaking harsh words? If one dwells or abides among all-knowing beings on the other side of knowledge. How is it speaking idle chatter? If all dharmas

This is speaking after completely and correctly distinguishing everything. If someone asks, how is one considered greedy? If I can continuously obtain the unsurpassed meditation, which is possessed in the mindstream of the Buddha, then that is being greedy. If someone asks, how is one considered to have a mind of malice? If he thinks that all the afflictions that disturb the mind have been harmed by this person, then that is having a mind of malice. If someone asks, how is one considered to have wrong views? If he can truly see or observe the wrong and incorrect discriminations that reside in all sentient beings at all times, then that is having wrong views. Regarding the statement "The Buddha's teachings are profound," which of the Buddha's teachings are profound? The permanent teachings mentioned here are the Buddha's teachings, because the Dharmakaya is permanent. The teachings of cessation are the Buddha's teachings, because all obscurations are ceased. The teachings of arising are the Buddha's teachings, because the Nirmanakaya arises. The teachings of objects are the Buddha's teachings, because they are the antidotes to the eighty-four thousand behaviors of sentient beings. The teachings associated with desire are the Buddha's teachings, because the Buddha embraces or promises those sentient beings associated with desire. Similarly, the teachings associated with hatred, the teachings associated with ignorance, and the teachings of ordinary beings should also be regarded as the Buddha's teachings. The teachings that are not defiled are the Buddha's teachings, because in the perfectly pure Suchness, it is not defiled by any obscurations. The teachings that are not closely defiled are the Buddha's teachings, because even though born in the world, they are not closely defiled by worldly teachings. Therefore, the Buddha's teachings are called profound. Thus it is said. What is the result or necessity of speaking after contemplating? The teacher can easily establish it, because the meaning is completely contained within. It is also easy to explain to others, so it is easy to understand. Therefore, by grasping the teachings, it is easy to perfect the accumulation of merit. By perfecting the accumulation of merit, one can realize the nature of reality. Knowing that the Buddha possesses profound wisdom, one gains faith. The same is true for the Dharma and the Sangha.
