Indeed, it is following, just like pure wisdom, etc. The first sentence is to keep in mind the thought of benefit and happiness, just like it is said, "Distinguishing different words with different meanings." This is the second chapter on the characteristics of what is knowable. Next, we will observe how to enter the characteristics of what is knowable. If someone asks, that is, it is not held by the place of the continuum that is cultivated by much learning, the Alaya consciousness; just as the Alaya consciousness is the cause of all afflictions, this is also the seed of purification, held by proper attention. Manifesting Sutras and other dharmas and selflessness and other meanings, having the manner of manifesting various appearances. Appearing as if it were the place of the object to be grasped. Either with the seeing ear consciousness, or with seeing, it is the seed of the object to be grasped and the grasping conceptualization and other expressions of mind. Who is the one who enters the characteristics of what is knowable? It is the mind continuum cultivated by much learning of the Mahayana Dharma, manifesting the pleasing of immeasurable Buddhas, that is, attaining it with this. Because of these three, much learning, etc., which have unwavering single faith, the roots of virtue are well accumulated. It is the Bodhisattva who has well accumulated the accumulations of merit and wisdom. Where does one enter? The expression of mind manifesting Dharma and meaning with seeing, arising from the cause of the Mahayana Dharma, that itself is the object to be entered, therefore it is called the basis. Entering the ground of aspiration and conduct, and the path of seeing, meditation, and ultimate completion. In the ground of aspiration and conduct, faith arises in the subsequent proclamation that all dharmas are only mind. In the path of seeing, truly realizing that there are no sentient beings, no dharmas, no object to be grasped, and no grasping. In the path of meditation, meditating on the antidote to all obscurations of afflictions and knowledge. In the ultimate path, completely realizing because there are no obscurations, entering in that way according to the order of the four types. How and by what method does one enter? By generating the power of the roots of virtue of the two accumulations, and in order not to make the mind shrink back there, by taming the mind in three ways, abandoning the four abodes, and by always respecting and combining with mindfulness the practice of Shamatha and Vipassana that focuses on the Sutras and other dharmas and the meaning expressed by them. Taming the mind in three ways, that is,

The practice is: Countless beings in countless realms attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment simultaneously in a single instant. Why can't I achieve that? To be without discouragement is the first mind training. With what thought do Bodhisattvas constantly practice generosity and other perfections, that is, without a miserly mind, without discrimination towards desires, without hatred, without laziness, without drowsiness and sleep, without ignorance, may I obtain these thoughts. If one obtains excellent thoughts, then generosity and other virtues will naturally arise. Therefore, with little effort, I will be able to perfect all the perfections. Thinking like this is the second practice. Those who possess virtuous Dharma with worldly defilements, if they die immediately, they will immediately obtain a perfect body as desired. I have abandoned unfavorable qualities, possess virtuous qualities without defilements, and am extremely virtuous. Why can't everything be perfected immediately? This is the third mind training. The meaning is expressed in verse: Because countless sentient beings, transformed into human form in a single instant, attain the fruit of perfect enlightenment, therefore one should not be discouraged. With what thought, with a good intention, with a virtuous mind, one performs generosity and other deeds, this thought is for the sake of perfect enlightenment, and also for the benefit and happiness of sentient beings. Obtaining this firm mind, the generosity and discipline of Bodhisattvas are said to be non-worldly practices. Those who possess worldly virtues can immediately obtain a perfect body as desired after death, up to the peak of existence. Those who abandon unfavorable qualities and possess virtues can also immediately obtain the perfect fruit up to Buddhahood. Seventh. Abandoning the four abodes is: Abandoning attention, that is, completely abandoning the attention of Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Abandoning hesitation and doubt, that is, having no doubt about the Great Vehicle Dharma. Abandoning attachment to the Dharma, that is, completely abandoning the attachment to the self and what belongs to me in the Dharma of listening and thinking. Abandoning conceptualization, that is, not paying attention to or conceptualizing all the signs that appear and are established before the wisdom of meditation. Seventh. Whatever form and other signs appear or are established in front by their own nature, and whatever I
