If a thing is truly established in its very nature, then the consciousness that has it as its object will not fail to have the appearance of it. Because there is no conceptualization, it is not appropriate to attain Buddhahood, for it is impossible to have non-conceptual wisdom without grasping and being grasped. Bodhisattvas who have attained power and yogis also, in this way, through the power of faith, can visualize things like earth in that way. Who among those who are intelligent and have attained the accomplishment of pacifying conceptualization? When contemplating all dharmas, because things appear as they are contemplated in the mind, and also, in the movement of non-conceptual wisdom, because all things do not appear, therefore, one should understand the absence of things. Because that which is grasped does not exist, the consciousness that grasps it also does not exist. Therefore, non-conceptual wisdom without grasping and being grasped is established. 7. If mere consciousness, which is the place where things appear, is the nature of other-powered, then how should one know that it is other-powered, and why is it called other-powered? Because it is born from seeds of one's own habitual tendencies other than oneself, it is other-powered; and because it ceases in an instant after arising, it is called other-powered, not born independently, not abiding independently, but arising and ceasing by the power of causes. If the thing that abides in it, though absent, appears, is the nature of the completely imputed, then how is it completely imputed, and why is it called completely imputed? Because the conceptualization of consciousness has countless aspects of inversion and is the cause of arising inversion, it is completely imputed. And because there is no self-nature, but only the object of mental conceptualization, it is called completely imputed. If the completely imputed is the nature of utter non-existence, which is the nature of the thoroughly established, then how is it thoroughly established, and why is it called thoroughly established? Because it does not change into something other than that, it is thoroughly established. Because it is a pure object and is the supreme of all virtuous dharmas, it is called thoroughly established in the sense of supreme. In the 《Meaning Hidden》, it says: The completely imputed is something that each ordinary person should also know, because it is the cause of clinging to the manifest as one. In the 《Discrimination Treatise》, it says: That which is imputed is not the object of any consciousness, because it does not exist.

That means it doesn't change as a basis for something, but for fabrication, it's not that it doesn't change either. Just like that, the scriptures say that it is what is apprehended by the consciousness of individual ordinary people. Other-power is the subsequent attainment beyond the world, purity is worldly, and the consciousness of ordinary people also becomes knowable through self-awareness. So, what does it mean that the scriptures say that without seeing the perfectly established nature, one cannot see other-power? That is to negate the other-power that is not fully manifest, so there is no fault. On the other hand, even if the self-awareness of ordinary people grasps other-power, it is because it cannot be determined to grasp other-power that is separated from the completely imputed. Even if there is self-awareness of other-power, it is because it has not been determined to grasp it, so it is said that this perfectly established nature has not been seen. The perfectly established nature is: the object, suchness is constant, and its object-possessor, correct wisdom is the nature of impermanence. That is to be known as the knowledge of wisdom that transcends the world through the way of ultimate truth and self-awareness. It is also said that it is based on the other-power that is completely imputed, arising from the ground of endless habitual tendencies of the elaboration of speech that has appeared since beginningless time, and the consciousness of mind that distinguishes in all aspects in the manner of endless aspects of phenomena such as self and vase, is to completely impute that part of other-power that is to be distinguished. Thus, for the other-power to be distinguished, the consciousness with the ability to completely impute, focuses on the name on it, takes the meaning of the name as its characteristic, and manifests attachment there, thereby arousing all speech expressing essence and difference. Distinguishing hearing and seeing, etc., or making various kinds of expressions, actually fabricating existence for things that do not exist, such distinction is the nature of complete imputation. So, are these three natures different or not different? Because it cannot be grasped as different, it is neither different nor not different, because of existence and non-existence, because those two are not the objects to be expressed. By the different name that depends on other causes, the nature of other-power is also said to be completely imputed and perfectly established. Because it is the cause of complete imputation, it will become completely imputed for the other-power that is completely imputed. Thus distinguishing, thus.
