It is because of knowing the arising. How is one a wise person in the Dharma with respect to all dharmas? If one does not rely on meditation, but only abides in the Dharma through the practice of hearing and thinking, and if one does not rely on hearing and thinking, but only abides in the Dharma through the practice of meditation, then one does not abide in the Dharma. If one relies on both and abides in both, then one abides in the Dharma. Holding, reciting is said to be seen as arising from hearing. Engaging in samadhi and not holding it as sufficient is seen as arising from meditation. The practice is: constantly being accustomed to constantly meditating, and respectfully engaging in these two is not abandoning yoga, and engaging without reversing is seen as not abandoning attention. Not holding it as sufficient is not abandoning making peace within, not experiencing its taste, and viewing it as engaging in peace from above and above. The bodhisattva's treasury is called extremely vast because in it, the perfections are: number and characteristics, order, definition, meditation. Differentiation, summary. Opposing factors. Praising qualities. It is because of showing certainty in one another. Why? Does it show vastness and profundity? It is because the nature of omniscience itself is vast and profound. Some sentient beings do not believe and are afraid because they are separated from the nature of their lineage, have not generated roots of virtue, and are held by evil friends. Some who believe in the Great Vehicle but do not necessarily arise are those who hold to superior views and are attached to the meaning as if it were the word. With this in mind, in the Dharma categories of the Great Dharma Mirror Sutra, the bodhisattva is like the word. Those who improperly discriminate the Dharma give rise to twenty-eight wrong views, namely, seeing signs, and the view of denigrating imputation, and denigrating imputation, denigrating that very emptiness. The view of pervasive holding. The view of transformation, etc., are spoken of. The meaning of all dharmas being without self-nature, the reasons for intending the imputed, etc., are spoken of. There is not much need to write. Four intentions. Four hidden intentions. A wise person in the Dharma is in samadhi. Moment by moment, bad states are destroyed. Separated from various perceptions, one obtains joy and delight in the Dharma. The appearance of the Dharma is never interrupted, knowing the immeasurable. The signs of non-conceptual wisdom arise everywhere. Accomplishing the complete Dharmakaya, and the higher also by the higher.

Holding the accumulations. What is the offering of the Great Vehicle that is most praised, and why is the offering of the Hearers not like that? It is for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings. The determination of the Dharma, namely, the third chapter of the Compendium. The determination of attainment is twofold: the individual and the establishment of realization. The former is divided by differences such as conduct and renunciation, such as conduct towards desire, etc., the six who conduct equally, the seven minor afflictions, the individuals of the three vehicles of renunciation. Differentiate well by dependence, those who have not accumulated merit, those who have accumulated and not accumulated, the three who have accumulated merit. By application, following with faith, etc., the twenty Sanghas. By realm, the three of the desire realm who conduct as ordinary beings, learners, and non-learners, and the same with the form and formless realms, making nine in total. The Bodhisattva who conducts in the form realm, and the Solitary Realizer who conducts in the desire realm, as well as the Inconceivable Individual of the Tathagata, making twelve in total. Divided by conduct, those who conduct with aspiration, those who conduct with higher intention, those who conduct with signs, those who conduct without signs, the individual of the Bodhisattva without effort. What is it to conduct with desire? It is the individual whose share of desire is heavy and long-lasting, and so it is even in the interval of conceptual thought. Equal afflictions are those that abide in their own nature. Minor afflictions are those that abide in the nature of lessened afflictions. The vehicle of the Solitary Conqueror is one who has the lineage of a Solitary Buddha, with middling faculties, who has made aspirations for his own liberation, who is averse, who is free from desire and has the intention of liberation, who desires to realize enlightenment himself, who follows the Dharma by focusing on the Hearer's canon, who has not generated or has generated the factors of ascertainment, who has not obtained or has obtained the fruit, whatever the case, in the absence of a Buddha's appearance, having realized the path himself, dwells alone like a rhinoceros horn, or in a gathering, or in conduct, whichever, attains the end of suffering. Thus it is said. One who has not accumulated merit is, in terms of truth, an individual with weak faith and aspiration, whose corresponding factors of liberation are small, and who has no fixed time for obtaining the fruit in this lifetime. One who has accumulated and not accumulated is one with middling faith and aspiration, whose corresponding factors of liberation are middling, and who possesses a fixed lifetime. One who has accumulated is one with increased faith and aspiration. The corresponding factors of liberation are vast, and who accomplishes it in one lifetime.
