The second is the conclusion. Third, the ways in which the mind understands objects are divided into four types: the way of understanding universals and particulars, the way of understanding appearance and negation, the way of understanding the expresser and the expressed, and the way of understanding contradiction and relation. First, it is divided into three points: a general explanation of the nature of object and subject, refuting the idea that entities exist in opposites, and a special analysis of the way of understanding universals and particulars. The first point is further divided into two parts: analyzing the way things exist and the way things are determined. First, the subject that holds the self-characterized object is non-conceptual wisdom; the wisdom that holds the universally characterized object is conceptual. Among them, the self-characteristic is the entity that exists as a real thing, while the universal is not an entity that exists as a real thing. Second, entity and opposite, universal and particular, affirmation and negation, conceptual and non-conceptual, these are explained differently by other Tibetan scholars, sometimes the same, sometimes different, sometimes the law of mind, sometimes the law of meaning, sometimes affirming the universal, sometimes negating, so the understanding of concepts is not deep enough. I would like to explain uniformly, like the treatises of Dharmakirti, taking entity as the object of the universal, conceptual and non-conceptual as wisdom, and appearance and negation as the way of holding. Second, refuting the idea that entities exist in opposites. To this, early Tibetan scholars said: that which cannot be separated from many opposites is entity, and the dharma with the nature of aggregation is opposite. In addition, the definitions of entity-dharma and opposite-dharma are: substantial contradiction is not contained in one entity, and substantial contradiction is not contained in one opposite. Such entities and opposites, like the heretics who believe in entities with limbs, fabricate opposites, and in fact there is no aggregation that cannot be separated, and entities and opposites are interdependent, leading to many faults, so it is unreasonable. Entity-dharma and opposite-dharma are also not different from the entity and opposite themselves, so it is unreasonable to exist separately. If according to your view, impermanence is an entity-dharma, then the object of inference that measures impermanence becomes an entity, which is unreasonable. Because, if the object taken by inference is not considered an entity, then the object of inference cannot be an entity-dharma. If it can be, then there is no different entity on the pot of made and impermanent, so understanding made means understanding impermanence. The object of measuring oneself by relying on the sign is...
