Because it is new. If there is a definite understanding that has cut off the imputation, then it is not direct perception, because it has an object that has been realized and not forgotten. The former is the object of direct perception, and the latter is the object of certainty. If these two moments are grasped as being the same before and after, then that is pervasive conceptualization. Therefore, the knowledge of direct perception and the reasoning that has a common basis can be blocked by self-awareness. This is called the concluding verse. Second, refuting the argument: If direct perception is only the moment of matter, then ordinary people cannot realize the extremely subtle moment, so the direct perception of ordinary people is impossible, is that so? It is not so, the direct perception of ordinary people does not fall on dust and indivisible moments, when the many moments of the aggregation of dust of object and sense power can generate consciousness, then the consciousness that arises from experiencing with the self-characteristic of those many moments as the object to be grasped. For example, a drop of water cannot overflow from a full bottle, but it can gradually fill the bottle and eventually overflow. Therefore, the consciousness that aggregates dust into a visible form and is not confused about the meaning grasped by its own conceptualization is the direct perception of ordinary people, just like directly perceiving a bottle. Third, summarizing the meaning: It is unreasonable to divide the mind into five categories, etc., based on a small amount of clarity of other valid and invalid cognitions, because the classification of the fundamental number is done by classifying similar and dissimilar types, and the classification of subtle differences within it is considered to belong to the fundamental type, and the number is not determined separately. If this is done, then the classification of valid and invalid cognitions and arguments will not be mistaken to realize the intention of Dharmakirti. This is the intermediate verse. Second, establishing one's own system, divided into: the general characteristic of non-validity, the classification of numbers, and the characteristics of each of the three. First, therefore, the definition of the mind of non-validity in one's own system is: any consciousness for which not deceiving its object has not been established, that is non-valid. Second, if classified, there are three types: non-apprehension, misapprehension, and doubt. The opposite of valid cognition, non-valid cognition has three internal classifications, which is to determine the number from the way non-valid cognition enters the object.

They are divided into these categories because all the ways the mind operates are no more than four, one of which is valid cognition, and for non-valid cognition, there are three ways of operating. Their number is definite, and there are three faults of reasoning and three distinctions, etc., which is one key point. If summarized in terms of essence, then illusion and doubt are also not understanding, so they all fall under the single category of not understanding. The third part includes two parts: the main body and the conclusion. The first part includes three: not understanding, illusion, and doubt. The first part includes two: definition and division. The first: That is, because of the lack of clinging to the real object and the reverse of the unreal object, valid cognition and illusion can be excluded, and by combining the two, doubt can be inferred, therefore, such a mind is not understanding. The second: It is divided into three: the mind has not entered the object at all, or even if it has entered, the act of searching has not been completed; or, even if the act of searching, that is, analysis, has been completed, it has not become an object of the mind, so it has not been found. The second part includes two: definition and division. The first: For clinging to the object as the object itself, there is a valid cognition that is harmed by another valid cognition that considers it to be something else, which is illusion. The second: It is divided into two: such as conceptual illusion disturbed by sleep, and non-conceptual such as sensory consciousness illusion, seeing two moons. If further divided, non-conceptual has two types: sensory and consciousness illusion. Conceptual has three illusions: object, time, and form, for a total of five. The third part includes two: definition and division. The first: Even if the object is clung to as the object, but while its function has not disappeared, there is also a way of clinging to it as not the object, such a mind is doubt. The second: It is divided into two: directly arising manifest doubt, and although doubt does not arise directly, if analyzed, doubt is latent. Manifest doubt is further divided into two: such as whether sound is permanent or impermanent, the possibilities of both sides are equal; and clinging to the possibility of one side being greater, divided into meaning changing and meaning unchanging. The second part, conclusion: In short, the consciousness of valid cognition, that is, direct perception and inference, actually all fall under the object-possessing self-awareness valid cognition, and the three non-valid cognitions, know that there is no other meaning than not understanding. This is the concluding verse. From the Wisdom Analysis of the Treasury of Logic.
