Therefore, there must be parts facing both sides, so the mind-moment also has the nature of three moments of beginning, middle, and end. Therefore, it is called inseparable one and many. The answer is that there are two situations: the argument is not established and the reasoning is not similar. First, the argument is not established. If so, because it has the nature of three moments, it is impossible for there to be one moment. If there is no one moment, then the nature of being three moments will also disappear, so it is unreasonable to negate "one" with "three." Second, it is not similar to dust. Like this, when dust forms coarse matter, it simultaneously rotates, so the middle dust will become partial. Therefore, if placed, it is partial; if destroyed, it will disappear as non-partial like dew on the tip of a hair. If a moment produces three times simultaneously, it will also have that fault, but because the past, future, and present do not exist, three times will not be produced simultaneously. Therefore, the present moment itself is non-partial. Therefore, Master Aryadeva connects the three moments and destroys them, which is to negate the view of the Hearers who believe that the three times are real, not just to negate the non-partial moment. It is only possible to establish the present moment as non-partial by establishing that it is a real object that can function. Second, if it is said that the distinction between valid and invalid cognitions such as object-grasping is contradictory, then in reality, all phenomena that appear are the mind itself, and the appearance itself does not exist in the external world. Stable habits, such as holding a white conch shell for a month, are valid cognitions, and unstable habits, such as holding a yellow conch shell for two months, are invalid cognitions, so it is reasonable to make the distinction between true and false. Third, summary of meaning. As long as one remains in the school that accepts external objects, it is impossible for the object and consciousness to be the same entity, because at that time, the cause that produces the appearance is called the object of grasping. When all objects of knowledge enter the inner nature, the object and the object-possessor will not be established as different entities. Verses summarizing the chapter. This is the first chapter of the "Treasure of Reasoning" on examining objects. Second, regarding the mind as the knower. Definition. Classification summary. And determining the meaning of these three parts. First, the definition of mind is clarity and awareness. Second, it is divided into many from the perspective of objects, etc., and from the perspective of objects, it is divided into conceptual thought that grasps self-characteristics and universals.

Two non-discriminations. From the perspective of essence, there are many distinctions such as being mistaken or not, but from the perspective of the consciousness of the object-possessor, it is self-cognition, because all things converge on their own characteristics, and all knowledge converges on the end of the unique self-cognition. Third, there are two: refutation and establishment. First, there are three: stating the prior position, refuting it, and summarizing the meaning. First, if we refute the wrong conceptions about that type of intellect, then Tibetans consider there to be five: investigation, uncertainty about appearances, decisive knowledge, wrong knowledge, and doubt. Second, there are three: refuting investigation, refuting uncertainty about appearances, and refuting decisive knowledge. First, there are two: general refutation and individual refutation. First, there are three: it is unreasonable upon examination, it is too extreme, and it is the same as reversal. First, that is unreasonable because, in general, if investigation does not rely on a sign at all, then it is merely an assertion, and if one examines whether it is established or not, it will become doubt, because certainty is impossible, so it is a latent doubt. If it relies on a sign, then is the sign valid? Or is it any of the three types of pseudo-signs: contradictory, uncertain, or unestablished, and it does not go beyond these four. Second, if the two types of investigation that have inverted reasons and uncertain reasons are not included in the three pseudo-signs such as the sign being unestablished, then there will be a sign that generates investigation, which is a fourth type of pseudo-reason, because it is admitted that there is a sign that is not any of the three pseudo-reasons. If what is called investigation is not a pseudo-sign, then it is not admitted to be two valid cognitions, and if it is considered necessary to ascertain the true meaning, then there will be a third valid cognition called investigation. If that investigation newly ascertains the true meaning, but is still not a valid cognition, then why would inference not become a valid cognition? If there is certainty of the true meaning, but it does not cut off imputation, then certainty and imputation will not become mutual harms and harmed, and if one thinks so, it contradicts scripture and reason. If one says that even if there is no certainty of meaning, thinking that there is water in the well is a true investigation, thinking that there is no water is a false wrong knowledge, and thinking whether there is water or not is a hesitant wisdom, and that these three are not contradictory, then if there is no certainty of truth, investigation will decline, because it has been promised that certainty is in accordance with meaning. Is there
