Not being established in both the similar and dissimilar sides is the uncommon uncertain reason. Second, it is divided into four: one where it is uncertain because it does not exist in either the similar or dissimilar sides in reality; and three where it exists in either or both sides, but is not seen and therefore not certain in the mind, making four in total. The second has a definition and two divisions. The first is that which, other than the subject of knowledge (the property-possessor), applies to both the similar and dissimilar sides, is the uncommon uncertain reason. The second has two divisions: general and specific. The first is divided into the real uncertain reason and the residual uncertain reason that still possesses a residue of doubt. The second, the real, is when, after the property of the subject is established, it exists in reality in both the similar and dissimilar sides, and is seen by the mind as if it exists, and if one clings to one side, it cannot be determined to be the opposite side. It has four divisions of pervasive and non-pervasive. The residual has two, the first, the definition of the truly residual is that the mind sees the similar side but does not see the dissimilar side. Although it appears to be a correct reason, it cannot determine the opposite. It has three situations: existing in the dissimilar side but not seen, not conflicting even if not existing, and conflicting but uncertain. After the property of the subject is established, the sign is seen in the dissimilar side and not seen in the similar side, so it resembles a contradictory sign in the mind, but since the opposite cannot be determined, it is not clung to as a contradictory sign, this is the contradictory residual uncertain reason, that is, the sign exists in the similar side but is not seen, etc., equivalent to the reverse of the above three situations. Third, the contradictory, has a definition and two divisions. First, if the sign is established on the subject and becomes pervasive with the opposite of what is to be established, that is the contradictory sign. Second, it is divided into the divisions of one's own system and the refutation of the views of other systems. First, there are two divisions: real divisions and divisions from the perspective of the intention of speech. First, there are two divisions from the perspective of connection, and two ways of dividing into three by elaborating the combination. First, there are the entity and its contradictory result, and debate and abandonment. First, since all non-apprehensions are summarized as the nature reason, in reality they are contradictory by nature and contradictory by result, that is, summarized as two contradictions. For example, if permanence of sound is taken as the thesis, then stating that sound is permanent is contradictory by nature, and stating that sound is newly produced is contradictory by result. Second, some non-Buddhists say that this is not a contradictory result, because
