If other is not prevented, Then at the time of expression, the sound of "wood," because it may also mistake stones, etc., for wood, the desired wood cannot be established by this symbol. If it is said, "Only this is wood," preventing others without branches and leaves from being wood, and thus applying a determination with others, then at the time of expression, this symbol can establish the desired wood. However, that is established as other-exclusion by excluding others that are not wood. Second, the real answer is divided into: the main point and the dispelling of doubts. First, according to our view, after seeing something with branches and leaves like this, we use the symbol "wood" to refer to it, and similarly, for other different kinds of things without branches and leaves, we use "non-wood" to refer to them. Therefore, such a symbol is applied by the wisdom with conceptualization, clinging to similar kinds as one. That is, at the time of expression, we distinguish between having or not having branches and leaves, and at the time of application, we do not directly examine the determination, but apply it to the thing itself. Therefore, the object of the symbol is not something that exists apart from excluding others of different kinds. Second, if all sounds only express through other-exclusion, then is it necessary to apply the words of definite grasping only through determination with others? If all applications of words are turned back from others and directly applied to the thing being expressed, then all words are inherently of the essence of definite grasping. For example, like saying "Fill a pot with water," if the sound of "pot" does not prevent taking water with other containers (such as cupped hands), then it is not necessary to say "pot" when only saying "Fill with water." Similarly, if the sound of "water" does not prevent others (such as dust cloths), then it should be sufficient to only say "Fill." Also, for example, if the sound of "Fill" does not prevent not taking, then saying it becomes meaningless. Therefore, the way these sounds prevent is as certain as one thinks, just as the word "wood" prevents stones, etc., but does not prevent pine trees, etc. If the opposite of the contrary is not prevented, then it will become a common sound with it, and thus the mistaken commonality cannot be established in the mind. Here, those who say that knowable things are not pervaded by other-exclusion, even if they have not studied logic, have not touched the secret key points of logic. In general, if something is a knowable thing, then it is other-exclusion, therefore it is not pervaded, because phenomena and exclusion are relative. Phenomena are not exclusion, but if it is a knowable thing, then it is sound and conceptualization.

It is very shameful to admit that it is an object-possessor. This is also written in detail in the footnotes. Third, there are two parts: debate and answer. First, for words such as knowable, all, everything, and without exception, there is nothing to be excluded because they are the object-possessors of all, so is it contradictory to apply the exclusion of others that distinguishes them? Second, even if there is no object other than or not included in the knowable, etc., there is distinction through fabrication, that is, excluding the non-knowable, etc., thereby establishing the knowable, etc. Fourth, there are two parts: debate and answer. First, the opponent says, if the exclusion of others or the opposite that you believe in is an established real entity, then it is the same as claiming that the general characteristic is a real entity, which is a fault of expression. If it is a non-entity, then there is nothing, so there is no need to establish it, and it has no function, so this designation of "opposite" is not necessary. Second, there are two parts: showing that others' answers are unreasonable, and giving one's own answer. First, there are two parts: the way the answer is unreasonable, and the reason for the unreasonableness. First, in response to this, most Tibetan logicians believe that although the opposite of a non-entity is a non-entity, the opposite of a real entity is considered a real entity because the real entity and the essence are inseparable. If this is the case, then the fault of refuting the general characteristic is difficult to avoid. Second, there are two parts: reasoning and showing that the system is to be blamed. First, if it is difficult to avoid, then is the real entity that is the opposite of non-tree one with or different from the reversed tree, sandalwood? If it is one with sandalwood, then the nature of sandalwood will not follow others, and other things such as sandalwood will become non-trees. If it is believed to be like the second case, and sandalwood and other things are other trees, then sandalwood will become a non-tree, because it has been promised that the nature of the opposite is not other than that real entity, so the opposite of tree is different from sandalwood, so it will become like a piece of stone and not a tree. Second, admitting that the general characteristic and the opposite are real entities is like what Dharmakirti refuted being admitted by heart disease, so here in Tibet, holding the treatises of Dharmakirti, confusing and obscuring or preventing the immaculate reasoning of the great self, this is like the monkeys living in the forest not
