Seventh, how to calculate the arising of the four seasons and five elements? First, there are the four external seasons of the climate, the five internal elements, and the five intermediate pulses. As for time, it is like this: the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and the four seasonal transitions of each of them, are added together to make five times. That is, the three months of spring are a sign that the earth does not change, and the trees begin to sprout; the sign that the sky does not change is that the stars Magha, Spica, and Antares control the time. The lunar mansions of these months, by these stars, when a certain star rises, the beginning of the night descends, and when the star sets, dawn arrives.
