If it appears red and numerous, it is Klu btsan (Dragon Strength); if it appears as a fierce form, it is Klu bdud (Dragon Demon); if it appears fleshy, it is Btsan yam shud; if it appears with two heads, it is The brang; if it appears like a mirror, it is Mtsho sman (Sea Goddess); if it appears like a lute, it is Bdud mo (Demoness); if it appears in the form of fish and conch, it is Sa bdag (Earth Lord); if it appears like a makara and snake, it is harm from Klu gdon (Dragon Spirit); if it appears like mist and clouds, it is the rising of impurity; if it appears like an arrow, it is a male throat; if it appears like a sling stone, it is a female throat; if it appears with many eyes and arranged squares, it is Zhing 'dre (Field Demon); if it appears like a stake and mustard seed, it is harm from another's stake curse; if it appears like a skull, it is harm from a dragon curse; if it appears like a buffalo with long horns, it is harm from Dam sris (Oath-breaker Spirit). These are the appearances of ghosts. To determine whom they harm, it should be estimated from the direction of the nine areas of the measuring site. If a ghost appearance occurs in Lhasa (Lha sa) (place name), the ghost will disguise itself accordingly. For example, if a conjoined head appears in Lhasa (Lha sa) (place name), The'u brang will disguise itself as a god, etc., with the individual differences as mentioned above. If a god appearance occurs in a ghost place, it means the god is angry and harms as a ghost. If it appears like a juniper tree, it symbolizes the local deity being angry, etc., and should be understood as above. If the water does not turn back, if it does not turn back, add a little camphor to hot water that has been slightly boiled, and add three portions of heat to cold water, cool it and leave it. If it turns back, it means it did not turn back due to illness. If it is still unclear, if the water of the disease cannot be determined, then that water has a strong demonic appearance, and it does not turn back due to its power, meaning it is hidden or concealed. In this case, if the water does not turn back, a divination should be performed, explained like sowing nine types of grains. There is a difference in the ending of the word "boiled" and the word "surrounded". The word "divination" is the beginning of the surrounding, which is calculation. Note: It is the meaning of sowing, and differences appear in the explanation of the medicine to be sown. In general, the diseases of various matters are mostly clear in the pulse, and the diseases of containers are clearer in the water than in the pulse. Although distinguishing between life and death is also present in the water, it is mainly distinguished by the pulse. Distinguishing between hot and cold, even through the pulse, is clearer by simply looking at the water. Therefore, a skilled doctor should examine the water to diagnose the disease. Eliminating the four key errors is to refer to the key points of hot and cold in the Upadesha Tantra.

This is the response to the previous request. Then, Yid-las-Kye (Sanskrit: Manasija) requested an explanation of the nine methods of healing mentioned in the previous thirty-three verses, and this is the response to that. The venerable one called out to the great sage Yid-las-Kye, saying that knowing the methods of healing is extremely important in order to properly match the disease with the remedy. Although it is good to inquire about such an important matter in this instance, the nine methods of healing have already been well explained in the previously explained tantra, such as, "For diseases that are not understood, have doubts, and are not certain, treat with a sharp arrow like a cat stalking." Therefore, the great sage should observe with the wisdom of hearing and analyze with the wisdom of thinking, grasping the essential points. If one does not possess such observation and analysis, it is like losing an object in the dark. Remaining on the examples of practice or relying on them, it will not come or be helpful when needed. If one observes and analyzes the meaning of the four great tantras, grasping the essential points, and puts it into practice, then just as the sun illuminates the treasury of a dark room, everything will become clear. At that time, just as one puts one's hand into a box filled with gold and turquoise and takes it out, it will be sufficient to use it whenever one needs it, because it has become one's own experience. Therefore, it is impossible for the sage Yid-las-Kye to forget what was said previously, but mentioning it here in the form of verses is to dispel the doubts of followers who think that this is the same as or different from what was said previously. This method of combining the essential points of the four tantras to understand is an instruction given for the benefit of followers. This is the explanation of the second chapter of the Secret Oral Instruction Tantra: Essence Ambrosia, the Eight Branches, which likens what is seen to a mirror and water. By trusting in scripture and reason, thoroughly dispel the net of doubt. This explanation of the first chapter of the Later Tantra surpasses other explanations. Written by Mipham, who holds the position of physician at Shar Palpung, may it be auspicious! May it be auspicious! By accomplishing the material and conditions of the definitive meaning that transcends death, may this virtue cause all sentient beings equal to space to be born in the Pure Land of Vaidurya! May it be auspicious! May it be auspicious! The commentary on the Essence Ambrosia Tantra, The Sage's Golden Words, part four ends.
