The remaining pulse becomes weak and is like sisters. If the head is injured, examine whether there is a problem with the muscles, bones, or brain marrow. According to the pulse of cun, guan, and chi, it is said that they become strong in order. If there is a problem with the muscles, the cun pulse will become strong. If there is a problem with the bones, the pulse below the guan will become tense. If there is a problem with the brain marrow, the pulse below the chi will beat quickly. The pulse of pus is trembling, and the general pulse of pus is similar to edema, also trembling. Adding the word "ram" which means uncertain, or if it is pus heat, the pulse will become short. Explaining this as feeling hot to the touch is a slight misunderstanding of the point. The pulse of cold disease, the pulse of undigested new disease is thick and hard. The pulse of undigested old disease is weak and the pulse is thin. The pulse of ascites, tumors, and scrofula is: subtle and sunken, tight in the depths, that is, powerful. If vomiting is excessive, the upper pulse is weak, and after diarrhea, the lower pulse is weak. However, there are six situations in which the pulse is easily confused with each other. What are the six? The blood pulse and the qi pulse are easily confused because they float, as it is said, "easy to confuse." Whether it is the pulse of new blood or the pulse of fainting, there will be floating on top. The key to not confusing is: the one that is hard in the depths is the blood pulse, and the one that is empty is the qi pulse, so you must distinguish clearly. Similarly, the full pulse and the empty pulse are also similar in terms of running, so they are easy to confuse. You must also distinguish by the strength in the depths, and do not confuse. Phlegm disease, blood disease, and aging are also similar in that the pulse is sunken in the depths, so it is easy to confuse. However, the tension and relaxation in the depths are different, so you must distinguish clearly. Second, determine the specific location of these diseases in the upper and lower parts of the body, and in which of the viscera and bowels they are located. Use the cun and guan pulses to generally determine whether there is disease in the lungs and heart in the upper part of the body and the viscera and bowels. Similarly, use the guan pulse etc. to judge, and it is easy to understand according to the medical classics. Use the upward-sloping pulse and the downward-sloping pulse to examine the five viscera and six bowels separately as before. So, what is the reason why these pulses are called upward-sloping pulses and downward-sloping pulses? The five viscera are located on the upward-sloping side of the finger, and the pulse that beats when exhaling is called the upward-sloping pulse.

The pulse of the six organs located at the finger pressure points, when inhaling, the beating pulse is called the Yin pulse, the reason for this is that the blood flow in the internal organs is more, so its pulse is also the pulse of convenience, slightly stronger than the pulse of the six bowels, and corresponds to heat. The six bowels have more air flow, so its pulse is also the pulse of wisdom, slightly weaker and more empty than the pulses of the five internal organs, and corresponds to cold, so the five internal organs and six bowels depend on each other and are placed in Yin and Yang. When exhaling, the flow of the two pulses is stronger than when inhaling, so the pulse during exhalation and inhalation, depending on each other, has strong and weak distinctions, and is called Yin and Yang, if observed with subtle wisdom, it will appear. Relying on this, from the flow of Qi and blood and the existence of pulse, a way to understand the characteristics of diseases will inevitably arise, because all aspects of the body's interrelationship appear, in addition to this, inferences can also be made. The five internal organs and six bowels mostly interact with each other, such as one being hot and one being cold, this situation does not occur at the same time, such as the heart and intestines, etc., belonging to the combination of the same element, it is difficult for cold and hot diseases to occur at the same time. The word "mostly" means that it is not impossible to happen. If it happens, if the heart of the five internal organs has heat, the intestines of the six bowels may have cold, this situation may occasionally occur. However, it is impossible for the intestines of the six bowels to have heat while the heart of the five internal organs simultaneously has cold. The way in which the upper and lower parts of the body experience cold and heat should also be understood in this way, the upper part being hot and the lower part being cold may occur, the lower part being hot and the upper part being cold will not occur at the same time. Therefore, the differences between diseases and where they are located, those subtle points, must be thoroughly, unconfusedly, and separately understood. The eleventh, the death pulse is: pulse changes, incompleteness, and cessation. The first type, the pulse changes from before is: fluttering like a flag moved by the wind, sometimes slow and sometimes fast, beating and stopping irregularly, is the death pulse of wind. Like a hawk: not moving each other in the air, staying in the middle of the sky with the tail end gently shaking, beating so fast that it cannot be counted, is that of bile.
