For bile, use bitter ginseng and amla. For blood heat, use vasaka decoction. For inflammation and swelling, use red ant decoction. For indigestion, use saltpeter ash. Mix these with decoctions that open the pulse channels, and it is said that after three days, only hot soup should be used, these are all preliminary practices. The actual medicine for pulse channel purification is as follows: Barberry is subdued with mirabilite, and suppressed with powder. Mirabilite pierces, and barberry expels. White soup opens the pulse channels. Gravel suppresses all diseases. Garnet leads diseases to the depths. Cinnabar separates essence and dross. Leeches purify the blood. Leeches lead diseases into the pulse channels. Such are different. Worms purify serous fluid. Mirabilite and natron remove pain from the pulse channels. Spikenard seeks out diseases. Seven black ones, twenty-one variegated ones, two yellow ones, one large one.
