The great self, Yuthokpa, said: To the supreme physician Gonpo and, to the sage with clairvoyance, for the sake of sentient beings, I prostrate with reverence through the three doors! I, Yuthok Gonpo, studied medicine from the age of eight. From the Dharma wheel in my heart, I extracted the precious treasure of medicine. For the sake of future followers, I divided fever into outer, inner, and intermediate types. Having named and shown each separately, destroying the essence of four hundred diseases. Now for the sake of the disciples, I will explain the precious scroll key. This precious nectar scroll is like a king's treasure house. These six keys on the golden needle are like opening the iron doors of illumination. Thus it is said, this is what is said in the "Precious Accumulation Tantra." And "Kumata" and "Garland of Jewels," "Eight Branches Precious Treasure Tantra," "Lotus Tantra" and "Jewel Accumulation," "Nectar Heart Essence Oral Instruction Small Tantra," for the meaning of what is realized, the oral instructions of the wise, and Yuthok Yonten Gonpo's own practice experiences, all measurements are shown in the mirror. As it is said, the taming of decoctions to treat fever is: musk one, nutmeg four parts, agarwood one ounce, haritaki one ounce, three fruits and dragon bone one ounce, myrrh two ounces, boil with one pot of water, and take what is left in one bowl. The son-letter golden key says: Other decoction taming methods are clearly explained in the scriptures. Decoctions ripen diseases and then perform bloodletting. If a feverish patient is drowsy, it is ripe. If a lung disease patient has pain in the lung channel, it is ripe. The six clear bloodlettings are the Lama's oral instructions: Clear lung blood has no foam, hot blood disease is disordered with large steam. Thus it is said. Also, the decomposition of decoctions is to decompose lung heat, musk without meat three parts, bitter ginseng haritaki one ounce each. Another recipe is: Vasa one, haritaki two, lime, gold, Minaga, saffron, white sandalwood three ounces each. Boil with five pots of water, leaving one bowl.
