If you only know how to write a little, then make the lines thicker. It is good to alternate between letters and lines. It is said that this is the trick to making colors appear. If the letters are large, draw six or eight lines. For medium-sized letters, draw four or three lines. For small letters, draw two or one line. When drawing like this, the head line should be slightly thicker, and the branch lines should be very thin. This is what those with experience in drawing lines say. The characteristics of the pen knife are: if the iron material is too good, cracks will easily appear and it will be difficult to sharpen. If it is too bad, the blade will not be sharp and it will not be able to be quenched. Therefore, use a tool called "Sosek" and glass stone or a mixture of male and female iron. Mix butter, brown sugar, and honey to smelt the iron and make it carefully. The tip is flat like a chisel, suitable for making pens. No cracks or flaws, suitable for cutting paper. The tip has barbs, suitable for making ink pools and drawing patterns on the back. No cracks, sharp sharpening, suitable for grinding stone to take powder. The back pattern and quenching degree are uniform, suitable for maintaining the sharpness of the blade. Wool grease, Terminalia chebula, are suitable for quenching the pen knife. Use stones such as "Zing" or "Chokpa," suitable for sharpening pen knives. Sharpen the outside once and the inside six times. Sharpening is an important oral instruction. If the quenching degree is small, direct sharpening will quickly make it sharp. If the quenching degree is large, rotating sharpening will not cause the blade to curl. This is said to be the experience of pen knives. The characteristics of the pen are: the pen tube is small and heavy to hold. Bamboo pens coated with smooth lacquer that are easy to slip when pressed are good materials for making pens. Types of hard pen holders that are not easily wetted by water are good. Apply oil and smoke or bake it in the fire to harden it. At a place three fingers wide from the tip of the pen, cut twice with a knife. Two-thirds should be made into an ink pool, and one-third should be made into a pen holder. If writing cursive script, the front corner should be long. If writing regular script, it should be cut flat. If writing round script, it should be cut in half. If you want to write quickly, make a large opening. If you want to write well, make a small opening. If the pen tip is cut once, the letters will be written well. If the pen tip is cut in half, the pen tip will become hard. It is said that this is the case. Regarding the method of writing magical characters, the water character is written with the golden juice of "Tanu." Finally, write "Vam" (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) with ink, which is the sign of the water character. When reading it, wash it with water, and the characters will become black and clear.

Write the ེ་ letter with salt water. Write the རཾ་ letter, etc., as a sign of the fire element. When viewing, burn it with the heat of fire just enough to turn the paper black, and the letters will appear white. Alternatively, add the ashes of burnt bellflower to milk, or add bone ash or other white pigment, and write on white paper. When desired, burn it with the heat of fire, and it will become clear before it turns to ashes. Write the earth letter with equal parts of sugar, cardamom, and wine essence. Make signs such as paths. When viewing, breathe on the letters, sprinkle fine earth powder that does not match the color of the paper, press and rub it slightly, stir it in the soil, and wipe it lightly with bird feathers, etc., and it will become clear. Alternatively, write with clear yogurt, spread fine ashes of sheep dung or burnt grass on top, warm it slightly in the sun, and shake the paper to make it clear. The space letter is written with beeswax with sugar and a little honey added. Make the mark ཁཾ་. When viewing, lift it up to the sky, and at night, show the back of the letter to the light of the fire, and it will be clear when viewed from the shadow of oneself. Writing with a red spear tip and attaching it to a distant place is called the water letter, but it is similar to the earth letter. Writing with yellow orpiment and waving it in the wind is called the wind letter, which seems to be an abbreviation of the samaya-sattva essence. The wind letter is a letter written with the juice of the plant called "ཏི་ཀ་", and it becomes clear when blown with a bellows. Alternatively, write with the bile of arthritis or the bile of a sparrow, dry it, and wave it in the wind to make it clear. Furthermore, write letters or images of deities, hand gestures, symbols, etc., whatever you want, on white paper with aquatic plants and saffron. It becomes clear when blood from any sentient being is drawn into the water, which is called the blood letter. Writing with thick milk from a dri or sheep, and putting it in water makes it clear, which is called the milk letter, and so on, various methods like that will appear. Various kinds of filth such as lanvar, etc., are only mentioned here briefly, please consider them yourself. In addition, if you want to write a real gold letter, it is best to write on blue paper with well-refined gold powder, that's all. Similarly, you can write individual letters with refined copper, etc., and fine powder of turquoise, etc. In short, the method of refining gold powder is to cut the gold into pieces the size of a bee's wing or fingernail, and put it in a stone mortar together with a crucible, making sure it can be ground. Then, compress and dry these heavy things, burn them into ashes, and stir them slowly in water, and the stone powder and gold will separate. If you write with finely ground gold powder and it is determined that it can be written smoothly, then you can use it.
