Gloss. The turpentine gives a blue hue. If pure buckthorn juice is added, it gives a golden color. To produce a copper color, mix whatever color you desire. If it is too thick to flow, add a small amount of burnt dar-tsur or tsala ash. If it is too thin, add barley or peas, which will absorb the water and thicken it. If there is no glue, use barley malt juice or, for stickiness, mix clear, bloodless liquid from decaying animals, such as soup blood, etc., which will give it shine and prevent freezing in winter. Even in humid environments, it will not easily freeze. It is said that adding alkali to boiled tea can dissolve it, which is the best way to make ink sticky. In addition, nine ingredients for making ink are also described. First, the method of extracting from soot: Oil soot produces a large amount of soot, but it is difficult to tame. Birch bark soot is easy to tame and works well, but it has less gloss. Wood soot works well and produces a large amount. Red mugwort soot has good color, large amount, and is easy to tame, but it is prone to rot. Therefore, in winter, it is best to mix red mugwort soot with oil soot or birch bark soot, which will ensure good color, easy taming, and a large amount. If you want a deep blue color, you can use the black juice of indigo and turpentine. If you want a blue-gray color, use only turpentine. If you want a silver color, mix equal amounts of white rice and Manu Ruta juice in large quantities and rub it in the sun for a long time. If you want a red gloss, add a small amount of clear liquid soaked in antelope blood when it is about to solidify, and then rub it in the sun without using fire. If you want it to be very black and shiny, add a small amount of salt water and rely only on heat, without adding cold water. Whatever you do, adding Manu Ruta juice will make it soft and have the key effect of removing stains. If you use only rice juice instead of glue, it is easy to write, dries quickly, and will not rot in summer. Adding a small amount of clear liquid from sumac water and glue can increase the gloss. Generally, rubbing for a long time and rotating in no particular direction while rubbing can prevent breakage, make it easy to write, and reduce the amount of black pigment, which has the key effect of increasing gloss. Second, the method of extracting from flowers: The black soot on the wick of an oil lamp is similar to oil soot. Other flowers, such as the purple halo in the fruit, and Chinese carnation flowers, are soaked separately and mixed together after they turn black.

If you write with dye water and black borax, with a little sheep's blood, the ink will be viscous and easy to write at first, and it will become clear every year after writing. This is the method of making flowers without adding alkali, etc. The third method is to make it with soil: take three parts of fertile soil stalks, one part of finely ground tsampa, mix them and make them into balls. After it is completely dry, burn it fiercely with fire. After it turns red, immediately grind it in a fire-resistant mortar, heat it slightly, add a little pure acacia gum, pour in glue, it is best to have water, it is okay if not, after grinding for a long time, the color is black and shiny and the quantity is large. This is the best ink for smearing on stoves and stove mouths. The fourth method is to make it with birch bark: also called birch mushroom. Peel off the newly grown tender skin and burn it fiercely with fire. Put it in water after it turns bright red. Take it out and grind it in a mortar, stir-fry it after it is completely dry, add acacia gum juice and glue. After grinding for a long time, the color will become very black and shiny. This is suitable for smearing on leather. The fifth method is to make it with manure: collect cow dung that has not changed color. It is best to use early, unchanged manure. Burn it with fire, and when it turns red, put it in water and take it out. Then add a little ground dry hard malt and soak it in water. Grind it like the above, and the color will become very black, suitable for use as black paint. The sixth method is to make it with yellow meat: In summer, the yellow cattle, the meat is cut off and then grows back. The seventh method is to take the ripe fruit of the Terminalia chebula, if it is wet, use a needle to extract the juice and put it in an iron vessel. If it is dry, slightly pound it and soak it in water in an iron vessel. Expose it to the sun, and the juice will turn purplish-black. Add pure amla and black borax juice to write, the ink is viscous, bright, and easy to write. The eighth method is to take the tendons of livestock, without blood, blood vessels, and impurities. Take an appropriate amount and put it in a smooth pottery pot. Add any of the above residues and grind. Add a little water. When the ink is moderately thick, you can write. The ink is smooth and the color is very good. This ink is suitable for painting on walls that are not exposed to sunlight. If there are too many tendons, it will produce an odor, so use it in moderation.
