Ninth, grind the radish and add any glue you like. Knead it with your hands, add a little clean water and squeeze it, and ink will be produced immediately. Although the color is not very good, the writing is very smooth. It will fade slightly after a long time. If you need quick ink, these two methods and the method of making it with bone marrow are quick inks. The method of soaking ink is to heat the ink bottle and pour water into it, and then drip water after it cools down, so that others cannot write. If you write it yourself, heat the ink bottle and put in a beeswax tube, and the ink will flow out. The method of preparing cinnabar will be explained in the later section on pigment preparation. Regarding the method of writing, the body should write in an appropriate posture, not leaning too far forward or backward. If you lean too far back, the handwriting will be crooked. If you lean too far forward, it will be especially harmful to your health. It is comfortable to place the paper directly in front of you and write. Alternatively, put a cushion under your left knee, raise your heel, and then write in this posture, which will not harm your body and the handwriting will be neat. If there is light on the right side of the window, etc., the shadows of the head and hands will block the light, which is very uncomfortable, so the side with plenty of light should be placed on the left side, or write facing forward. Writing and reading are the basis of all merits. First, write large characters in the Samta (sAm&Ta) style, as guided by a teacher who is proficient in calligraphy, and write according to the stroke specifications. The Li, Kham, and Zar fonts must reach the specified size, and eventually be mastered proficiently. When writing, the bottom three fingers of the right hand should be bent inward, and the opening of the thumb and index finger should be wide. This is what the old people have passed down. If you are always in a hurry and write casually, the handwriting will become imitative and your hands will develop bad habits. If you write carefully according to the specifications, the handwriting will become better and better, and you will eventually become a calligrapher. After becoming proficient, even if you write quickly, you can maintain the integrity of the font and the handwriting will not become rough. The dexterity of the hand is important for all crafts, but the degree of proficiency depends on the degree of effort. For the Uchen (dbU can) letters, Tibetan calligraphers have formulated stroke rules and distinctions such as mother laws and child laws. The guidance of a proficient teacher mostly depends on the shape of the Tsa-tsa (tsha tsha) and the quality of the mold, so it is very important. By the way, the secret to soaking paper is: Boil diluted flour water and take the clear part, the amount should be large, and then use silk

Add about a quarter of unalkalized bran water, and a little clear glue water. Mix these and knead them warm and gently. If it's too hot, the paper will burn; if it's too cold, the bran water won't work, and the paper won't be hard and thick. Therefore, keep the temperature appropriate. The qualities of these materials are: silk makes the paper white and bright, bran water makes the paper hard and fluffy. Glue water makes the paper hard and glossy, and the writing won't be blurred. If you want it very white, add a little juice from ground sugarcane, which will work very well, but too much will add weight. Too much bran water will burn the paper and it won't absorb ink. If the glue water is too thick, the paper will be stiff and won't absorb ink. Therefore, be sure to measure it as described above. The quality of the paper material and the quality of the paper making will produce various kinds of paper, which can be learned from the paper making process. The difference in burnishing stones is: burnishing with a conch shell will make it smooth, but the paper will turn slightly blue. Burnishing with a stone will burn the paper. Burnishing with flint will bring out the texture. Burnishing with iron or the like will produce rust. Therefore, burnishing with Gzi Ser Khra stone will make the color good and smooth, and the paper will become fluffy, so the former writers said that this method is good. If you can't find Gzi Ser Khra stone, horns or the like will do, or agate and other hard and smooth gems are good. On a clean, smooth, and stable wooden board, it is best to burnish evenly and slowly with a hand burnisher or a sky burnisher. For lines, if you want yellow, use the bark of the Kyerchen tree. For green, use the green seedlings of summer, both yellow and green, and the tips of the autumn seedlings will turn yellow, take the juice. For red, use good madder root, change the color by heat treatment. Add a little good plant ash to these materials, and it is important to expose them to the sun for a long time. If you want reddish-yellow, just use madder root and draw lines with vermilion, although it is red, the color of the writing will not be very good. Blue uses pure indigo. White is made from rotten conch shell ash. Black is made from lead rust ink. If you want thin lines, use the tip of a knife. If you want thick lines, close the tip of the pen. If you want the thickness to be moderate, use a pen holder of the thickness you want. If you want to write very good letters, use thin lines, because thin lines will not obscure the writing. If you know how to write medium-sized letters, the lines should be moderately thick. The head of the letter should be straight, and the luster of the eyes of the letter and the lines should complement each other, there is a trick to this. The length of the letter
