Four such as extremely establishing. Four such as the third's clear play. Four such as the fourth's collection, totaling sixteen. The thirty-six characteristics are: Ornament, letter collection, beauty, simile, etc. Summarized by the "etc." of the treatise: Branches of coquetry, branches of garlands, branches of connection, other branches, etc., these are all the gestures of dance, the extremely wrathful demeanor, the demeanor tormented by desire, and the demeanor suffering from sorrow, etc., all of which are explained in the treatises on drama. The essence of these is not mentioned here. Secondly, the actual summary of the meaning is: If the divisions of the ornaments of poetry are finely divided, then the ornaments that are extremely vast and limitless will be extremely summarized by their universal categories, becoming the measure of the number of thirty-five kinds of meaning ornaments, and the path of these ornaments has been very clearly distinguished. Those subtle distinctions of particularities that transcend the object of expression and exist completely beyond can be distinguished by familiarity with this treatise itself, because what is shown here is the diverse categories of various ornaments of poetry, becoming the seed of imaginative thoughts that give rise to infinite joy. Thus, in the Mirror of Poetry composed by the teacher Dandin, the commentary on the second chapter called Ornament of Meaning is completed. Now, for the sake of the intermediate virtue, the meaning of the third chapter, which is the last chapter, will be explained. Among these, the presentation is made through four parts: double conjunction and the difficult examples derived from it, the manner of riddles, the abandonment of the ten faults of poetry, and the concluding verses. Among these, the first part includes the actual double conjunction, and what is derived from it that is similar to it, and the presentation of some difficult points in two parts. Among these, the first part, double conjunction, is briefly presented from the perspective of names, and explained in detail from the perspective of examples in two parts. The first part is that the collection of letters that are not separated by other letters between the former and latter of what is said, and the collection of letters that are separated, that is, the collection of two or more letters, is again repeated and circulated, which is called double conjunction. Also, the sound to be circulated exists at the beginning, middle, and end of the feet of the verses, and is the object of use. Also, it exists only in one place, or in two, three, and four places.

The alliterations of verses existing in 'ka' are varied. The alliteration existing at the beginning, the alliteration existing in the middle, the alliteration existing at the end, the one existing in the middle and at the end, the one existing in the middle and at the beginning, the one existing in both the beginning and the end, the seven existing in all three of the beginning, middle, and end, are like the ones existing only in the first line. When combined with all four lines, the distinctions become twenty-eight. The distinctions of those arising from universal distinctions mixed with others are very many. Among them, if the types are summarized, there are easy and difficult ones. Here, some examples of those will be shown, although not all are shown, it will be easy to understand by these examples. Second, to illustrate with examples: The alliteration existing in the first line, the alliteration existing in other lines, the alliteration combining the end and the beginning, the universal alliteration, the mixed alliteration, the reversed alliteration, these six. In the first, there are three types: alliteration without interruption in the middle, alliteration with interruption in the middle, alliteration that is both interrupted and uninterrupted. In the first, there is the alliteration without interruption in the middle that exists at the beginning of the first line, similarly, the four that exist at the beginning of the second, third, and fourth lines. The first is the verse that exists at the beginning of the first line of the Indian example, "Mā ne na Mā ne na." Here, the two "Mā ne na" at the beginning and end have the same sound but different meanings, as follows: Mā is a negative particle, and ana is "this." When combined with it, when connected, the third case is obtained, so by adding the suffix that converts Ṭā to i, it becomes "Mā ne na." The latter "Mā na" is the Sanskrit word for pride, and by adding Ṭā, it becomes "Mana ne." Like this, it should be known that all the alliterations that will be explained have the same sound and form but different meanings. Although the sound and form of Sanskrit are the same, the scope of meaning is broad, so it is easy to create alliterations, not to mention the difficult types, which can also be easily combined. Tibetan is narrow in scope, not to mention the difficult types. Even the distinctions of easy alliterations are difficult to combine as they are. Examples of Tibetan alliteration mostly involve the circulation of letters, and the circulation of sounds of letter combinations is rare. The circulation of letters is similar to following, and is not a true alliteration, but the same sound is repeated in a fixed position.
