Furthermore, what kind of flavor is desired to be expressed, and what kind of thought accomplishes such an adornment of speech, that is called "intention." Due to the power of that intention, whether it is prose, verse, or a mixture of both, that speech itself possesses the special characteristic of a pleasing flavor, and therefore becomes poetry. The merit of that poetry resides in the nature of the object that the author has fully harmonized with wisdom, becoming a special merit of that stream of speech. That is the fruit of the poet's wisdom, and therefore it is called having intention. Secondly, what kind of merit is that which exists in the stream of expressive speech, and is shown by the name "adornment of having intention"? In general, just like the divisions of the adornments of meaning, it may become limitless, but if we summarize the meaning here, it can be gathered into four kinds of merit. Firstly, the substance of the expressive stream of speech, that is, the preceding and following words, are always and everywhere interconnected and mutually beneficial. This means that if the words do not converge on the key point of a single meaning of speech, it is a fault of the expression, and therefore it must be avoided. Secondly, in terms of the meaning to be expressed, the so-called "characteristics that are separate from meaning" means that one does not do things that are not suitable for expression in the context, so the expression is meaningful. Thirdly, whatever one wants to express, praising the corresponding merits or qualities of that thing is a way of expression that is in accordance with the mind. Fourthly, the order of expressing such a combination of words, by the very power of the sequence, clearly reveals the nature or qualities of the object to be expressed, even those that are profound and difficult to understand. That is to say, it is not that the speech cannot fully express the meaning, but that it fully expresses the meaning to be expressed, thereby satisfying the mind. In this way, how all these four merits arise is due to the power of the poet's wisdom or intention, and depends on it, so know that these are called having intention. Because the intention of the author of the speech is divided into superior, middling, and inferior degrees, the flavor of the poetry also becomes superior, middling, and inferior. Therefore, this having intention is the pervading place of all adornments, and is the source of beautiful flavor, therefore it is an adornment.

It is the excellence of all beings. Third, in the concluding part of the second chapter, there are two aspects: the form of adornment surpassing others, and the actual summarization of the main points. First, any connecting limb, entering limb, and distinctions of definitions, etc., in other treatises such as the Bharata and other dramatic treatises, it is said that the adornment of poetry has flavor, and this also makes language beautiful and has a universally joyful taste, so we consider it to be the adornment of language itself. In general, the connecting limb refers to the fact that when performing a drama, various themes must be expressed in various languages, so connection is made in between. Among them, the connection of the door is questioning, and the connection of the door of answering is question and answer, which is the name for the various forms of mutual questioning and answering. The core refers to the fact that sometimes, like a discussion, after many words have been spoken to each other, it is determined in the manner of reaching a consensus, which is called the core. Unbearable refers to expressing through metaphor, because it touches one's own metaphor, in a way that is unbearable or tormented by attachment, making an unbearable appearance. Obtaining certainty refers to doing as if certainty is obtained after many expressions with doubts, therefore, the door and the door of answering, the core and the unbearable and obtaining certainty, these are known as the five limbs of connection. Among them, throwing nearby, needing nearby, completely placing, completely craving, reason, obtaining, equally placing, accomplishing, acquiring, distinguishing, distinguishing, these are the limbs of the door. Completely walking, completely developing, suffering, playing, the splendor of playing, completely walking, contradicting, dwelling nearby, etc. are the limbs of the door of answering. Metaphors that have not occurred, metaphors of the nature of the path, collecting the sequence, inferring and initiating are the limbs of the core. Arguing, scattering, dripping, taking, enticing, etc. are the limbs of the unbearable. Connecting, preventing, expanding, determining, etc. are the limbs of obtaining certainty. The limbs of entering are: Bharata, Sāsvatī, Kaiśikī, Ārabhaṭī. Each of these four also has four limbs, first the limbs of Bharata are: complete craving and, universal door, etc., four. The second
