A commentary on the Kavyadarsha, entitled "The Playful Lake of Delight for Saraswati." A commentary on the Kavyadarsha, entitled "The Playful Lake of Delight for Saraswati." Svarasvatinandasyalilasaranamakavyadarsasyatikabiharatisma. Here concludes the treatise entitled "The Playful Lake of Delight for Saraswati," a commentary on the Kavyadarsha. Namo Guru Manjushri Vagishvaraya. Gone beyond all-knowing qualities, protector of the three realms, become the god of gods, incomparable teacher, supreme essence of great compassion, I respectfully prostrate to Shakya King. The face that blooms like a captivating white lotus, with a network of a thousand rays of light from eloquent speech, dispelling the darkness of the heart, bestowing supreme wisdom, May Saraswati, the glory of speech, grant auspiciousness. The throats of the wise, like gardens where white water lilies bloom, the moonlight of poetry, adorns them beautifully, the wonderful nuances of words, pleasing to the mind, making the three realms stable (beings) involuntarily attracted, behold! Therefore, in order to make the Buddha's teachings, this lamp illuminating beings, manifest through captivating words of composition, I compose the commentary "The Playful Lake of Delight for Saraswati" on the auspicious Dandin's excellent treatise, Kavyadarsha. Here, the point that the assembly of wise people should strive to learn is: how to use speech to extract delightful flavors, so that listeners can be enchanted? This treatise called "Poetry" is actually a branch of grammar. As it is said in the Avadana Kalpalata: "Ten million arts like a thousand petals, blooming the beautiful sun of the teachings, the nectar treasury of the goddess of speech, Mipham Namgyal, ever victorious." Among them it is said: "If there are no wise people, then wisdom declines, and people's lives are meaningless. If there is no incomparable poetry, then the wise are like parrots repeating words." Furthermore, it is also said in the Sutra: "One should compose poetry that clearly elucidates the Dharma, one should compose praises to the Three Jewels, thereby one will attain unsurpassed Bodhi." As stated in the Sutra, Bodhisattvas also devote themselves to this, as the Jewel Lamp Sutra says: "Those royal poets, skillfully compose poetry." And as the Bhadrakalpika Sutra says: "The Tathagata, King of Timely Knowledge, is a poet, Sukhastha, auspicious grass."

首先,在印度语中称为Kāvyādarśa(梵文天城体:काव्यादर्श,梵文罗马拟音:Kāvyādarśa,汉语字面意思:诗学之镜),在藏语中称为《诗镜》。Kāvyā(梵文天城体:काव्य,梵文罗马拟音:Kāvya,汉语字面意思:诗学)是诗歌,Ādarśa(梵文天城体:आदर्श,梵文罗马拟音:Ādarśa,汉语字面意思:镜子)是镜子。意思是语言的流

Also, praising with metrical tunes, one first generates the mind of enlightenment. Like that, our own teacher, in the past, when he was a Brahmin boy, praised the Buddha Star King, who was dwelling in the samadhi of the exhaustion of the fire of the star king, praising with metrical tunes such as "A superior being, a great ascetic like you," and circumambulating for seven days standing on one foot, it is said that he thus eliminated the accumulation of forty thousand kalpas. The great Nagarjuna, the teacher Hero, Chandra Gomi, Chandrakirti, and all the other scholars composed everything in conjunction with the path of poetics. The scriptures of the Buddha also possess complete definitive words, and thus have good meaning and good words. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Words and speech are extremely reasonable, they teach, distinguish, and cut off doubt." And so on, like that, due to the complete combination of natural language, it possesses the qualities of poetics. In short, it should be understood that all the good words spoken by the wise possess the qualities of poetics due to their meaning. Therefore, in order to make the combination of language complete, in India, the treatises on poetics were made by the former teachers Rama Sharma and others, and there are many treatises such as the Eight Thousand Verses on the Necklace of Saraswati. And this treatise, the Mirror of Poetry, which gathers the meaning of all the ancient treatises and clearly explains the combination of examples, was composed by the Pandit of the Outsiders, Dandin, who was named so because he held the Brahma staff. He was embraced by the Holy Mother Saraswati, and was a great scholar who was expert in the tenets of both internal and external schools, and in all the fields of knowledge. This treatise is held as authoritative by all the internal and external scholars in India, and is very popular. In Tibet, it was first translated and edited by the two translators Shong and Pang, and it spread greatly due to the kindness of establishing it through teaching and practice. When explaining this treatise, it is divided into three parts: the meaning of the name, the homage of the translator, and the meaning of the treatise. First, in the Indian language, it is called Kāvyādarśa (Sanskrit Devanagari: काव्यादर्श, Sanskrit Romanization: Kāvyādarśa, Chinese literal meaning: Mirror of Poetry), and in Tibetan it is called "Mirror of Poetry." Kāvyā (Sanskrit Devanagari: काव्य, Sanskrit Romanization: Kāvya, Chinese literal meaning: Poetry) is poetry, and Ādarśa (Sanskrit Devanagari: आदर्श, Sanskrit Romanization: Ādarśa, Chinese literal meaning: Mirror) is mirror. It means the stream of language.
