Just as it is naturally complete without depending on anything else. For example, in the Jataka tales, it says: The complete qualities attained by acting for the benefit of others, Even those who strive greatly for their own benefit cannot follow. The fame of the unerring letters "All-Knowing" is clear, Peerless one, I bow my head to the Dharma and Sangha. Like that. In the branch of the Elephant's Story, it says: Breasts reveal joy, the elephant's drunken forehead is high, Camphor necklaces are arranged for playful delight, The wealth of a young woman who has come of age, Also gives joy to those who have done good deeds. Like that. In terms of type, for example, in the Jataka of the Jewel in the Crown: The beautiful woman also (loves) the king, He is steadfast, profound, and beautiful, From compassion for the suffering of others, Like the master who puts down his bow and has dominion over desires. The rays of the jewel in the crown, Are like lines of writing written in saffron, Used to protect the directions of inauspicious terror. Like the wind waving and blowing, The beautifully adorned fly-whisks, Are like not truly liberating beings, But with courage surging upwards. The precious and desirable necklaces, Are like being held in the heart, In order to pacify the decline of the underworld, Like the steadfastness of the remainder. Seeing the great arms obtain the earth and the patience of the mind, They reveal desire, And are completely controlled by wonder. Like that, for the same meaning being expressed—seeing the king, The five verses are interconnected, and the meaning is complete, but the meaning within each verse is not complete, Finally, it is clarified by the single word "seeing." Like that, two or three verses, etc., as appropriate. The so-called "Treasury," in the first branch of the creeper, says: At some time, the lord of the earth, Sitting in the front courtyard, the elephant's Lord of the forest appears near, Kneeling on the ground, he said: Divine one, I have heard your fame, Like the earth protector coming to earth, I have seized the extremely beautiful elephant, It is truly wonderful. In the third occasion, these two suitable (elephants), Are standing at the door, please look carefully. Because if the lord sees, All the attendants and the fruits of labor will be obtained. Having heard these words, the king After consulting with the ministers, he went. Like that, (it is) pauses and verbs

Furthermore, the various independent verses, without a fixed number, exist in many forms like treasures in a king's treasury. Collection is: In the first chapter, relying on glory, the gods manifestly worship whose fame, that ruler named "Extremely Clear," there he became the center of the earth. The fragrance of whose fame's flower, the collection of virtues' aroma, in all directions, became the adornment of the doe-eyed ones' ears. The command of one possessing skillful wisdom, for the assembly on the heads of rulers, shines brilliantly like a garland of stainless golden lotuses. Like this, with three expressing verses, "became the center," "became the adornment," "shines brilliantly," these three verbs clarify, and so on. The meaning of one occasion, expressed with multiple verses and multiple verbs. Like this, both type and collection are similar in having several verses, but type is summarized by one verb, while collection is expressed by multiple verbs. Treasury and collection are similar in having many verbs, but treasury does not necessarily need many verses, while collection certainly needs many. Liberation does not need verbs and pauses, as the predecessors said. Moreover, Sakya Pandita said that having many verses means that a great poem refers to a large scope. To describe what such characteristics are, auspiciously expressing the desired meaning through the means of superior deities, and verses prostrating to superior deities, and also clearly indicating the expressing objects of the treatise, should also be placed first at the entrance of that great poem. The expressing objects of the treatise are Jataka tales and Avadana stories, which are transformed from past stories, or if not so, it refers to the wonderful expressing meaning of things such as the present, relying on goodness, whichever it is, becoming the dominance of Dharma, wealth, desire, liberation, i.e., the four fruits or needs, or done for that purpose, and the object of praise, to praise the learned and greatly virtuous guide, and not only that, but also the praise of cities, oceans, mountains, time, sun and moon that appear well in the current local area, and pleasure gardens, water games, drinking, and men
