Oh, the qualities that distinguish each of the two, such as black and yellow, are shown to be different, and this is called the opposition of the two. Stating the opposition of one and two applies to the following. Both you, the king, and the ocean are "Durbāro" (Tibetan, Devanagari: दुर्बारो, Romanized Sanskrit: durbāro, literal Chinese meaning: difficult to resist), meaning difficult to resist and profound. "Mahāsattva" (Tibetan, Devanagari: মহাসत्त्व, Romanized Sanskrit: mahāsattva, literal Chinese meaning: great courage) means great courage and great beings, such as crocodiles and other large creatures. "Teja" (Tibetan, Devanagari: तेज, Romanized Sanskrit: teja, literal Chinese meaning: splendor) means splendor and fire, here referring to the fire of Hayagriva. In this way, each word represents two meanings, the former being the attribute of the king and the latter being the attribute of the ocean, and merely through the combination of words, the two are made to appear similar at the same time, possessing these attributes. However, this attribute makes you two different, because the ocean is the owner of water, the nature of an inanimate object without consciousness, while you, the king, are the nature of a conscious and wise person. This is called having a combination method, so please understand it as the opposition of combination. Then, wouldn't those above and below also become combinations? If you ask, because here there are no words that understand the similarity of the two through meaning, but only combine similarity through sound, and then make them different again, that is why the name of combination is given separately. For two things that have no similarity in meaning, if they are distinguished by combining words, they will become like this. Therefore, the combination method of this ornament must be combined only through words, otherwise it will not be possible to distinguish it from other ornaments. Obstruction and reason, these two will also be shown. After saying this, examples of the two are given. The ocean, which produces waves of time, possesses the code of conduct of the holy, is stable because it is unfathomable, is the source of jewels, but also possesses impurities such as salt, and becomes the abode of fierce creatures such as crocodiles, is not the opponent of you, the king. Stating the difference between these two in a negative way is called the opposition of obstruction. Although you, the king, rule and control all the land, including mountains, continents, and oceans, and the endless Nagas support all the land with their bodies.

It is the ability to hold the earth. The author of the commentary on poetics, Ngagwang Drakpa, is said to be the son of Lhagmachen Norgye. Thus, even though one can hold all the lands, because one is the leader of those belonging to the animal category called "hand-goers." The Naga Lhagmachen is inferior to you, the king who is the leader of humans. Because the reason for differentiating the inferior quality is stated. This is called reasoned opposition, up to this point. The opposition of similarity where sound correctly enters is like what was said above. Even though the similarity is not actually stated with sound, the meaning of the similarity between the two is understood through the power of the distinction, and thus it is established as similarity. There is also the statement of opposition that differentiates, that is, if similarity is first explained by entering sound, and then argued or stated after that. The opposition of the distinction of dependence is: Your face and the lotus, the difference between these two is that the lotus grows from water, and your face depends on you. Like this, although it is not said that the two are similar in beauty, it is understood by implication, and only the distinction of the two bases of combination is directly stated. The opposition of the superior example is: The deer's eyes have the charm of swaying eyebrows, and the red radiance intoxicated by desire is untouchable. Beautiful woman, your eyes are adorned with all the qualities of both of these. Like that. That is, in the previous verse, only the respective distinctions were shown, and in this later verse, the example itself is shown to be superior to the example. This is the difference of the opposition that understands the similarity between the two. Again, not only are the two bases similar, but the points of distinction between them are also similar, which is different from the previous one, and will now be shown in detail. Your face and the white lotus, both bloom and have a fragrant scent. Bees surround the lotus, and eyes flutter on your face. This verse is the opposition where the similarity is covered by sound, and the points of distinction are also similar. This moon is the ornament of the sky, this swan is the ornament of the water lake, this sky has a string of stars, this water has blooming kumuda flowers. This verse is the meaning of similarity.

It is understood through... that it is a reversal where the distinguisher and the distinguished are the same. That is to say, in this later verse, the distinguishers, the moon and the swan, are white, and so on, the stars and the lotus are also the same, although whiteness is not directly stated in words, it can be understood by implication, and the objects to be distinguished, the sky and the water, are clear, blue, and clean, by understanding these similarities, it is distinguished from the previous verse, while in the previous verse, the similarity between the face and the lotus is understood through words that actually show similar attributes. In both the previous and subsequent verses, the attributes of the distinguishers, bees and eyes, and so on, the moon and the swan, as well as the stars and the lotus, are the same, therefore both the previous and subsequent are reversals where the distinguishers are also the same. The reversal of distinguishing similar kinds is: the light of jewels and other precious things does not take away its opportunity, and the light of the sun cannot stop it either, because it arises from the height of youth, the darkness of lust in the heart of a young woman prevents people from observing what to take and what to leave, therefore it cannot be seen. This darkness of a young woman, which is called a kind of darkness, although it is similar to darkness because it obstructs or obscures the viewing or seeing itself, it is different from darkness due to other attributes that the light of the sun and jewels cannot eliminate, this is called a reversal that distinguishes from things that are similar in kind. Similarly, in the offering praise of "Combination Jewel Source": The Victorious Sage Sun, is the nature of supreme light, I pay homage to the inner night, without friends, the inner day. It is said that the meaning is similar to this, but the way of expressing the words is slightly different, for these differences, the poets, cannot state them one by one. Just as it is said. The ninth is the ornament of possibility, regarding the definition of essence, and the distinction expressed by examples, these two. First, in the world, what is widely regarded as the cause of something, such a cause is negated, and said to be non-existent, and then the result itself is directly stated, or some other minor cause is implied, or where the cause is completely...
