Not only is it shown through treatises that include examples, but even now, wise people, each with their own understanding of the expression of words, produce various styles of words. Therefore, who can explain all these differences? No one can. So, what is the use of composing treatises? However, in order to gather together all the meanings of what the previous masters of poetics have shown, regarding the summary of general categories or main categories, and the seeds of various ideas of the style of embellishments, and to combine them clearly and perfectly. The entire effort to distinguish the characteristics of embellishments is the responsibility of the staff-bearer, myself (referring to the author himself). Among them, the southeastern path is set for distinguishing meanings, and some word embellishments such as "extremely pure" have already been shown. Therefore, here, the collection of embellishments commonly recognized by the South and the East will be vigorously displayed. After vowing, the collection of embellishments to be shown is briefly shown by name: Description of nature and metaphor, personification, clarification, circumlocution, negation and statement of different meaning, reversal and possibility, summary and excellence, speculation, cause and subtlety, part and order, joy and emotional richness, splendor, enumeration of names and universal benefit, vastness, denial, abandonment, combination, special, similar combination, contradiction and untimely praise, disguised praise, definite statement, statement together and complete change, auspiciousness, repetition, and then intention. These words are the embellishments shown by the previous wise men. If one possesses the method of these thirty-five meaning embellishments, then because one possesses the embellishment of expressing words, it will be called poetry. The second part, the same as the order of brief presentation, from the thirty-five, first, determine the essence of the self-description embellishment, show the difference through examples, summarize these meanings in three points: first, not expressing the nature of the things to be expressed, and its various states, through other means such as metaphors, but directly and clearly expressing its own nature, this direct statement is the self-description.

Or it is also called "Ornament of Reason," which is the first ornament among all ornaments of meaning. For example: "That is self-nature description, the first ornament, examples of reason, etc." Although it is good to describe it as it is in the earlier translations. The second has four divisions. The first is the ornament of describing the self-nature of reason. For example: "Its beak is red in color and curved in shape, its wings are green and soft, and its neck has three stripes of white, blue, and red. These parrots are endowed with gentle sounds." This is like saying that "reason" or "self-nature" refers to the essence of the thing itself, and directly and frankly making it the subject of the moment, which is called the ornament of describing the self-nature of reason. The second is the ornament of describing the self-nature of action, which makes the self-nature of action the main object of description. For example: "From within its throat, it emits an unclear but pleasant sound, its intoxicated eyes wander and move in all directions, that pigeon desiring pleasure, completely encircles its lover, and they kiss each other." The third is the description of the self-nature of qualities. For example: "The touch of the lover's body causes the hairs of the embracer's body to stand on end, the mind is extremely happy, the eyes also close, and one desires and indulges in that pleasant touch again and again." Here, if you add "this touch," it means "eventually indulging in it," and it would be better if the merit of touch is described as pleasant. Although some say that if you add an agent word, it will become an action, but even if the agent word actually exists in the text, it will not become a description of the self-nature of action. Because here the object of description is the lover's touch, and through the power of the touch, the body and mind feel calm, this merit is shown as the main object of description, and through this way of expression, the merit of the lover's touch is directly described. Therefore, whether you use "this" or "by this," if you understand it more broadly, there is no conflict in meaning. The fourth is the description of substance. For example: "Its throat is blue, it holds a skull in its hand, and on its head is the crescent moon that arose from the ocean..."
