The term "Buddha" also signifies both abandonment and realization, and the term "Bhagavan" can also represent both abandonment and realization. Among these, Buddha has already been explained. The term "Bhagavan" refers to the destruction (Tibetan: བཅོམ་པ།) of the sound of "Bhaga" (Sanskrit Devanagari: bhaga, Sanskrit Romanization: bhaga, literal Chinese meaning: Bhagya), or it implies fortune and excellence. One who possesses the qualities of destroying the four maras, or who possesses the six excellent qualities such as sovereignty, is called "Bhagavan." However, one should not merely focus on the application of the word, but rather extract the unique etymological explanation and power from within the word, and by adding the word "gone beyond" (Tibetan: འདས།) as an honorific, one distinguishes "Bhagavan" from the great deities of externalists, etc. Therefore, the terms "Bhagavan" and "Buddha" actually summarize the aforementioned abandonment and realization. Some commentaries treat this as the basis and the former as the characteristic, but in reality, there is no difference either way. Firstly, the power of the phrase "Bhagavan, that is..." indicates that it is the basis, so it is correct to understand it this way. Secondly, a detailed explanation: the manner of appearing in the world for the benefit of others, and the manner of perfecting abandonment and realization for one's own benefit, these two manners. The first manner includes how it appears and how it benefits beings after appearing. The first point: the meaning from "The Tathagata is..." to "seeing it, there is no disagreement." The Tathagata just explained arises from the cause of perfecting immeasurable accumulations of merit solely out of great compassion for the benefit of others, therefore it is said to be "the cause of merit." As it says in the sutra: "The Tathagata is the image of undefiled virtue." Such merit, unlike the virtue of ordinary beings, does not diminish after producing its result, nor does it diminish into nirvana without remainder like the root of virtue of hearers and solitary realizers, but like space, it is never exhausted. This is also, in the relative truth, held by skillful means of completely dedicating it to the benefit of others, and in the ultimate truth, it is seen as being of one taste with the dharmadhatu by being without object of focus. In truth, it is the blessing of attaining the wisdom vajra body that unites the two truths. Furthermore, the form body, etc., here are the common cause of merit, and that merit is not merely exhausted after maturing one result, but it is never exhausted, and not only that.

Da. All the virtuous roots created here will never be in vain. As the Avatamsaka Sutra says: "Hearing, seeing, and making offerings to the Buddhas will also increase and multiply the immeasurable accumulation of merit. When all the sufferings of afflictions and samsara are abandoned, even in this conditioned dharma, the intermediate state will not be exhausted." As such, the sutras repeatedly state in various ways, such as the analogy of a drop of water filling up, that once grasped, it will not be released, like entering the mouth of a crocodile. The Tathagata has attained a body like a vajra, with the equality of the four times, and even a single faith in him is like a drop of water falling into the ocean. Adorned with patience, if the form body is seen, then patience is the main factor in not giving rise to disharmony. As it is said: "Patience obtains an excellent and supreme form body, golden and pleasing, which all beings are happy to see." As such, because it arises from the immeasurable paramita of patience, it is said to be adorned with patience, from the aspect of the cause, or like a vajra, this body of immeasurable strength does not depend on conditions, so it is adorned with patience. Even if three thousand countless worlds are lifted up by hand and thrown beyond countless worlds, it will not harm beings, and so on. Even if one has not begged for food once, and abides for countless kalpas, there is no weariness or fatigue, etc., and the body is capable of anything, and this can also be applied. The basis of the treasury of merit, the so-called treasury is the meaning of inexhaustible. Even a single pore of the Tathagata's hair cannot measure the limit of merit, so this body is the basis of immeasurable merit. Moreover, as the Stone Throwing Sutra says: "The sum of the merits of all sentient beings in Jambudvipa is not even one hundredth or one thousandth of the merit of a Chakravartin, the lord of one continent. Likewise, the merit of two continents is not even one hundredth of the merit of a Chakravartin, the lord of two continents, and so on. The merit of hundreds of thousands of kotis of Chakravartins of the four continents is not even one hundredth or one thousandth of the merit of the gods of the Four Great Kings. Hundreds of thousands of kotis of the Four Great Kings are not equal to the Four Great Kings, and the merit of hundreds of thousands of kotis of the Four Great Kings
