Just as with wisdom understanding emptiness, and with skillful means, compassion, aspirations, samadhi, clairvoyance, and so on, engaging in immeasurable ways, relying on the inexhaustible power to accomplish the two benefits, thereby well-gone to the supreme fruit. Gone without returning, gone without remainder, there are three. Among these, the first is going without even the slightest stain of the faults of suffering and its origin, which arise from all afflictions of samsara, which is well-gone or beautifully gone, like a handsome man. This distinguishes it from samsara, because sentient beings do not transcend the cause and effect of suffering. Gone without returning, because the seed of self-grasping is uprooted, just as burned firewood does not grow again, not returning to the realm of samsara, like a completely cured plague. Here, the plague refers to the example of a person who has been freed from the main plague, smallpox, and is no longer afflicted by that disease in this life. This way of going distinguishes it from the path of non-Buddhists who have not abandoned the seed of self-grasping, because even if they reach the peak of existence, they cannot escape the confines of existence. Gone without remainder or gone completely, means that there is not even a little bit of unachieved qualities of complete abandonment and realization, like a vase completely filled with essence. This distinguishes it from hearers and solitary realizers, because although they only have non-returning, there is a difference in that abandonment and realization are not complete. These reasons also explain that the nature of mind is inherently clear light, that stains are temporary, and that there is an antidote to uprooting stains—the special wisdom of realizing selflessness, and that this path also has the power to perfect abandonment and realization through the ultimate habituation of skillful means, so it is important to believe in the reasoning established by valid cognition. Details can be learned from the great treatises of Dharmakirti and others. Having explained the perfection of self-benefit, now, for the benefit of others, explaining the meaning of "Knower of the World" and so on. The word "world" has many meanings, such as container, contents, suffering, etc., but in this case, because the eye of wisdom sees all sentient beings pervading space without obstruction, therefore, how to tame

The great compassion that possesses the power to manifest illusions as seen, and the essence of wisdom, is called Knower of the World. Who is declining, who is distressed, who should be tamed, day and night, constantly observing all beings in the world, knowing everything, without missing the right time for any being to be tamed, this is the cause of accomplishing the perfection of benefiting others. Relying on such great compassion, Tamer of Beings, Supreme. A being refers to a sentient being who has the ability to enter the path. Tamer of Beings, just as in the world, the one who drives a chariot or a horse and guides it on the right path is called a tamer, the Bhagavan is the one who tames beings from the dangerous precipice of samsara to the place of liberation, hence the name. How does he tame? Not like a king who inflicts suffering by taming with punishments, but by establishing them on the path that is free from the two extremes, relying on the source of inexhaustible bliss whenever they enter it, and leading them to liberation. Even those who are extremely difficult to tame, such as Nanda who is full of desire, Angulimala who is fiercely hateful, Kashyapa who is arrogant and conceited, and the blind person who is dull-witted, are tamed without fail by means of infinite skillful methods. So that in any direction, there is not a single being to be tamed who is left out, and his work of taming extends to the limits of space, hence the name Supreme. This is the actual situation of how he tames. By what method does he tame? He is called the Teacher of Gods and Humans. Although he is the teacher of all beings, because he directly hears the Dharma from the Sage and is the special basis for the arising of the noble path, he is called the Teacher of Gods and Humans, representing all beings to be tamed, and by teaching them the Four Noble Truths, he liberates their minds. Thus, having perfected his own abandonment and realization, and teaching the Dharma to others with compassion, he is an incomparable teacher. Knowing the difference between the teacher of oneself and others, one should generate respect. In conclusion, the Buddha Bhagavan, the Buddha who has perfected the two benefits in this way, is called Bhagavan.
