When I saw the title "Illuminating the Path of Reasoning in Debate," what can be said of scholars and non-scholars who are deluded by the demon of partiality? Those scholars who are impartial will, with the force of extreme joy in their hearts, involuntarily fold their fingers together on their chests and say: Now, this person who is widely known as the great scholar Mipham Namgyal of the degenerate age is the sole adornment of the precious teachings of the Victorious One in general, and in particular, the early translation teachings. Nowadays, this is widely known in all the great monasteries of the East. In general, he is familiar with the reasoning of epistemology, and when he was reading the Pramanavarttika, he appeared in a dream as the embodiment of Sakya Pandita, dressed in the robes of an Indian pandita, with a slightly curved tip of his hat, and asked him if there was anything he did not understand about the Pramanavarttika. He said, "It is the two, refutation and establishment." Then he tore a copy of the Pramanavarttika into two pieces, placed them in his hands, and said, "Put these two together." The moment he put them together, it turned into a sword, and all the objects of knowledge appeared before him. When he swung the sword, he clearly felt that everything could be cut off effortlessly at the same time, so that from the inside and outside, there was not a single word in the Pramanavarttika that he did not understand. This is what he said to his attendant Pema. When he first read the Vinaya Root Text, it seemed a little difficult to understand. Later, when he proofread the Kangyur once, he said that after reading these thirteen volumes of the Vinaya once, there was nothing he did not understand about the Root Text. Similarly, when he showed symptoms of a sore throat and circumambulated the protector's shrine of Eching Namgyal, and his condition improved, he borrowed the Tengyur from Pema Khotse Monastery. At that time, Lama Rigchok was in charge of borrowing and returning the books. He said that there were definitely twelve volumes, and sometimes it seemed like twenty-four. In any case, these books were read within three days, and the books were returned. The attendant asked him if he had understood so many books. He said that although he had not understood them word for word, he had understood all their meanings. Later, when he was composing the "Offering Ritual to the Sage, Subsequent Dharma" at Retsa Monastery, Khenchen Lama Kun.

When Béng Bǎi Dān served as a scribe, it is said that he could read one fascicle of the Kangyur in the time it took to drink a cup of tea, and he knew the words and meanings so well that he would not confuse them, and he could recite them clearly. There are many such stories. In this way, he read the Kangyur completely about seven times, and the profound and unique points such as the differences between the previous and subsequent fascicles were not obtained by consulting books, but when he was in retreat, he opened the veins of wisdom, and with the blessings of the guru and the yidam, they naturally appeared in his heart and had to be written down. In short, this treatise with excellent merits of collation has no stains of faults such as contradictions, repetitions, or incompleteness, and the expression of words such as phonetics, poetry, and rhythm is rich and complete, and all the profound essentials of sutra, logic, and secret precepts are complete. Even if mediocre logicians study it for a long time, it is difficult to exhaust, and its content is profound, solid, and broad. When composing commentaries that are indistinguishable from the excellent treatises written by the great Indian scholars such as the Six Ornaments and Two Supremes, and the great Tibetan debater, Omniscient Klong-rong, he did not need to consult other books or refer to drafts, but completed them in an extremely rapid and illusory manner, as explained in the following texts of each treatise. Such profound, sharp, and broad wisdom and eloquence are inconceivable, not to mention the ordinary virtuous friends of today, even those who have never appeared in the snowy land of Tibet before, how can such a person imitate them? Moreover, there are people who can testify to this, namely the Dharma Lord, the incomparable Vajradhara Khyentse Rinpoche, who on an auspicious day, offered all the rare and important scriptures of the exoteric and esoteric teachings and culture on the altar and made grand offerings. He then placed a high cushion in front of him, invited him to sit down, and said, "The responsibility for these scriptures is entrusted to you. From now on, please explain and debate them..."
