It is illogical to use the sixth case to indicate "the relationship of fire" instead of saying "there is fire in some place." The proponent of relation should not express it directly through inference. Relation should not be expressed as the proposition to be established, because one would say "there is fire in some place," but not "the place and fire are related." If one says, how can something not expressed be the proposition to be established? Because it is already implied through meaning, there is no fault. That is not right, because the reason, smoke, is not related to the mere relationship of fire in a place with fire, as previously explained. Although it is not necessary to point out the relationship between the place with smoke and fire and smoke, just as it can be inferred, so is the relationship, if you think so, it is not right. The sign, smoke itself, has a relationship of non-arising without it with fire, or there is no confusion, which is shown on the example other than the dharma of the proposition to be established. First, it is established on the example, and then one can understand the subject of the dharma that possesses that dharma, that is, the meaning of the collection is made as the proposition to be established. After the sign like smoke, what is to be pointed out, there are other considerations for the dharma as the proposition to be established. The meaning of the dharma of fire, such as clear, burning, sharp, etc., is not understood by distinguishing in various ways through reason, because the sign and non-arising without it do not exist. The sign itself completely determines the relationship of non-arising without it with its own proposition to be established. Only the separation from that other dharma is obtained, just as only fire can be understood through smoke. For example, qualities, smells, and fragrances, etc., through their differences, successively cut off the opposites of non-matter, etc., respectively, thereby separately understanding blue lotus, etc. Among them, the quality itself is separated from non-matter, the smell itself is separated from the quality of earth, the fragrance itself is separated from the general category of bad smells, the difference of fragrance, the fragrance of blue lotus is separated from non-blue lotus, etc., even like you differentialists. If, like seeing the place of need, the reasons enter through the way of establishing on the object, then, if the various parts of different opposites are distinguished, it will not be understood, or all affirmations and negations will be understood simultaneously. Similarly, through smoke, one cannot understand that fire is impermanent, because other dharmas, such as selflessness, etc., are not understood.

Therefore, because of pervasion, it is unreasonable to realize or not realize since there are no parts on top of the two sounds of impermanence and selflessness. Or, like impermanence, everything else should also be realized. Or, just as smoke is not seen in all fires, this fire is also not realized, according to the self-commentary. If one realizes as one sees, then all distinctions such as clarity and sharpness will also become realized. If the general meaning follows after manifesting from something else, then that generality will become different from that clarity. Moreover, since all the clear bases are not seen, that single generality that is not other will also not be seen. From multiple parts such as blue and gray, by grasping the manner of being a part that is smoke, one will not be confused about the sign for the fire that is the subject, and even though the fire itself, which is to be proven, has many qualities such as brightness, burning, and sharpness, it will obtain its own to-be-proven or one part, which is fire. Also, stating the verse of the occasion: The fire of the sign, etc., only that subject that is related to the nature and subsequent of any subject should be realized from that sign here. The distinctions of that subject, such as brightness and burning, are not to be realized by that sign, because one is confused about those distinctions themselves. The meaning related to the sign smoke, etc., the generality of fire, etc., is to be realized, but not the distinction of the subject. These two are indicated from the perspective of the sign and the subject, and for that distinction, the realization of the realizers in the manner of the existence of that sign, etc., is uncertain, because it is extremely confusing. This is called the intermediate verse. Relation, although it exists on the two qualities of relation, not all are understandable by all. The relation of the sign and the subject existing together is pervasive and pervaded, like mutual dependence. But the relation of being perfectly suited is not independent. If it were perfectly suited, then just as smoke indicates fire, fire would also indicate smoke, because there is no difference in the relation between the two, so it is thought. For the sign, only the subject exists, or only exists; on the other hand, the sign exists only on the subject itself, if so, the certainty or definite grasp of the relation between these two is a reversal that is not the same in this way.
