It is sufficient with just that. If the word "exists" is taken to mean that the senses are sacred, or that the senses are good or beautiful, then the words "exists" and "encounter" are meant to cut off those that are absent, such as dimness and other inferior or bad senses. If that is said, then the senses becoming sacred, and becoming good or beautiful, can also occur through other means, such as applying eye medicine to the eyes and applying oil to the feet, etc., and even if that happens, the same fault will occur. If the word "exists" only indicates that the senses are good, then the senses are not proven to be sacred by the object alone. Therefore, the eye medicine, etc., that makes it sacred, and the encounter with the eye, will also become measure. Therefore, that is too broad. It will become "This is the eye's intelligence that arises from applying eye medicine," etc. For example, just as the word "walking" is known only for cattle without "having the ability to walk." If it is said that one does not cling to the eyes, etc., which have already become sacred, but only clings to the object or the object itself in this case, then if it is thought that it is proven to be beautiful, etc., only through the object itself, then the word that makes it sacred, etc., is not known only for the object of the senses. If the senses always encounter the object, then it is seen that there is an interval between form and sound, and that one clings to something much greater than the object itself. Therefore, this harms the view that there is no interval. Some commentators say that they do not see anything other than the arising of the intelligence of valid results, and because they think that valid cognition and result are different things, that which is proven to arise intelligence from is manifest, so the encounter of sense and object is considered valid cognition. To that, then, it would be sufficient to say, "The senses of the person who encounters existence and truth are manifest," but what is to be done with the arising of intelligence? In the collection of the causes of intelligence, abandoning their own stated "I," etc., from what object does intelligence arise, why is that considered to be manifest valid cognition? Is it that only the object itself is the cause? If so, then why add "of intelligence" and "arising" in the sutra? That is unnecessary. According to you, the object, the senses, the mind, the self, and the person, these four, other than the power of combination and action, how can it be said that the collection that produces manifest intelligence or from what it arises is possible? Think about it. If it is thought that the definite knowledge that only these arise from the encounter of sense and object is manifest, then the combination of the particular characteristic of the cow itself and the substance cow, etc.

You think that the senses do not have it, but only observe that meaning. In general, because it has already been said that each individual's knowledge is not expressed by terminology. The bull itself, that is, the species of cattle, etc., combined with those possessing species, that meaning, even if you want to measure the bull itself or only the bull as a definite cause, etc. The wisdom of the senses does not have the ability to combine all meanings, such as generality, etc. Knowing what is not meaning, the senses, mind, non-discriminating error, and discrimination, in any case, exist or are established in the wisdom of direct perception (pramāṇa). Therefore, if it is said that the arising of wisdom means appearing from an external object other than wisdom, that is unreasonable. For pramāṇa, saying that another meaning is its result, then from the object of pramāṇa, no other meaning can ever be obtained. The reason for this is that if the arising of the wisdom of meaning itself is not the result, then there is no other result that can be established. If the arising of wisdom is different from wisdom, that is unreasonable. Its aggregation comes from its own cause aggregation. Although pramāṇa arises from aggregation, the cause of aggregation is constant, unborn, and wisdom is aggregation, and it is also hindered by arising from that other, etc. If wisdom and arising are not other, wisdom manifests, then saying arising is meaningless. If the cause, the person, changes and produces wisdom, then the person himself will become impermanent. If that self does not change from the previous state, then when it was not previously pramāṇa, there is no difference from the present, so that wisdom cannot be called pramāṇa, because it does not produce any pramāṇa. The chapter on direct perception, i.e., the first chapter, from the "Collection of Pramāṇa." There are two types of inference, of which self-benefit is the knowledge of seeing the meaning to be measured from a sign possessing three modes. The result, as previously stated in direct perception, the collection of sound and impermanence is the meaning to be measured. To this, new and non-deceptive knowledge is pramāṇa. The pramāṇa that recognizes it is the result. The objects and nature of the two pramāṇas are not the same, which will be explained below. The characteristic of the meaning itself cannot be expressed in words, because the objects taken by the two are different from the self-general characteristic, so the self-characteristic meaning is different from the tangible, conjecturable, and previously seen, heard, etc., expressed by the terms of speech itself.
