Since the types of increase and decrease are immeasurable, similarly, the number of senses without end will inevitably decrease, or if established as a realm with three qualities, then the five senses will also become one. If it is said that because of holding the difference in the arrangement of qualities, it will not become one, then the shape is held by the eye and body senses, and is not the realm of the ear and the other three, so there is harm. Furthermore, for a realm like sound, there will be the fault of having multiple shapes. If not, then the shape of a gold earring and a spoon are also one realm. Here, the shape must be understood as merely the arrangement of types or three qualities. If the senses only hold the arrangement, or hold its difference, and both are distinguished and held, then all realms are one, so it will become without difference. If different changes are held, then the main nature of things will not be held. If the nature is held, then the difference of things will not be held. If both are held, then it will become like a wish-fulfilling discrimination. If held separately, then when holding five things, its nature, courage, etc., will not be held. If it is said that things and pleasure, etc., are not other, then sound, etc., are also not the result of pleasure, etc., because their respective results are not similar. If it is not other, then it cannot be held by separate wisdom, so it is not the realm of the senses. If held together, then various realms will also become the same, and will be held by one sense. Because of holding many, the later part of the Samkhyas do not think like the former part, because they do not think there is one chief. For each nature and change, everything is also in its essence. Because each atom exists in that chief, it will become countless and endless. Pleasure, etc., are the difference or special feature of extreme combination. If it is said that change or result must appear and be established in the essence of sound, etc., then what reason is there for the three atoms of pleasure, etc., to become one in nature? Why is it not thought that things formed from different types, pleasure, etc., will extremely combine into one? If you do not want to understand the two ways of nature and change, then the result, sound, etc., will become one essence. The reason is that the nature of sound, etc., is the multiple of each. However, it is the realm of the senses.

That is, whatever specific thing or special change arises from that. Therefore, for each changing thing, claiming to have three qualities, etc., is superior to the earlier Samkhya school's view, but still has fundamental flaws. Because it does not only apply to one definite object, but applies to multiple objects. If according to your view, then all of these are not statements, because they do not belong to the category of direct perception and inference. If the root consciousness and the object are not one, then the inference based on the sign is also not. This flaw does not exist, because for the ear and other senses, it is direct perception. If the mind's function is to remember both the object and the function of the senses, then the Samkhya school admits that this is a branch of direct perception. The mind's function is not memory, because its cause is that it has not been experienced before. If the object of memory, the function of the senses, and the mind and wisdom of memory all occur simultaneously, this is also unreasonable. Therefore, the mind is not a valid cognition, so the mind's memory will disappear or not exist. If it is memory, then the mind and the senses are not the same object, so other things will be seen, and if so, then seeing other things and remembering other things is contradictory. If it is said that the mind is more important than memory, because it is called memory after the senses, then what the senses have grasped is then grasped by the mind, and after the mind has grasped it, the senses cognize it as before, which negates what your own scriptures say that the two are inseparable. If saying "more important" means that the mind has memory but the senses do not, so it is said to be more important, then your own distinction between the senses and other things becomes meaningless, because the mind can understand all external things. Those analysts say that the wisdom of the senses of a person that arises after encountering and correctly encountering a real thing is direct perception. They say so. To this, what is excluded by the word "exists" is non-existence, because if it encounters reality, then it must exist, because non-existent things cannot encounter. Saying "encountering reality" is because it is knowable. If the answer to the question of what it encounters is encountering existence, then this is considered a special attribute of the senses, and not that general things can encounter, because there is no reason to say so, because it has already been established. Therefore, it is not necessary to say that general things can encounter, and if it is made a special attribute of the senses, then encountering.
