I say that the measure of sound arising is not a collection of three, but rather that sound and things have no actual relationship, but rather a relationship established through consciousness, and inferring things from names is a later inference. Similarly, through close measurement, it is also said that what is seen and what is not seen are similar, and in measurement, even if familiar through seeing or hearing, it is only inferred after being labeled. Understanding the meaning is a later inference. What is called famous is understanding based on sound, that is, the relationship between the expresser and the expressed meaning is established through inference. Determining in specific situations, like close measurement, is thinking that there is a relationship oneself, and this is research. The chapter on excluding dissimilarities in the Introduction to Epistemology, that is, the fifth chapter. What is the use of showing similar measures? For those heretics who want to say that similar measures are arguments, just like saying that the part of reason, that is, the flawless part of the argument, is the same, in order to show that it is not the same as the establishment of vows or sects, therefore, the similarities of not possessing the three aspects and having contradictions are stated. In order to fully demonstrate arguments and refutations, and in order to state the similarities of these two, therefore, the answers to the similarities of arguments and refutations should be discussed in the treatise. For refutations, the difference between answers that are consistent with the subsequent should be explained, even if the refuter thinks it is a true answer. Saying that the flawless is a mistake is a similar refutation, and this is called a refutation. Applying the mistake applied to the other party to oneself as well is called an inferior refutation. The essence of the fourteen refutations, the refutations equivalent to meeting and not meeting, etc., are: sound is impermanent because it is produced by effort, for such examples, the refuter says: does this sign meet or not meet what is to be proven? If they meet, they are mixed together like the ocean and water and there is no difference. If they do not meet, because there is no reason to meet with what is not established, they must meet with what is already established. If that is the case, because what is to be proven is already established, there is no need for a reason. If they do not meet, because it is not a sign, there is no difference from not being an argument. Among all the refutations here, the first to add similarity is: not saying that the three times of meeting and not meeting, etc., are real names, and similar to this, that is, it does not actually bring about mistakes, so it is called similarity. For example, similar to a sword, similar to a spear, is this similar, or research? The second is the similarity of the three times. If the sign is to be proven

So, what kind of sign is this before? Because there is no object to be established. If it is established later, it cannot be a means of knowing, because even without the sign of the knowable, the object to be established is established. If they are simultaneous, like the left and right horns. Because the sign and the object to be established are mutually simultaneous, there is no need for one to establish the other. These two are the same in self-refutation and deduction. Being connected and the same as "not", it is not that it is not established, but in terms of the sign of the ultimate meaning of words, the meaning of the proposition has already been put forward even if the sign comes first. After observing the three times of past, present, and future, one does not want to say it is a sign, but after establishing it, one does not want to say anything about language, signs, and all times. The observation and statement of connection and non-connection, because it does not have the three modes, is a pseudo-reason and a concomitance, because it is not established for self-understanding, so it is said to be pseudo. Third, the similarity of permanence: If one says that sound is impermanent. If one thinks that sound is impermanent, and that sound and impermanence are different meanings. Then, what follows the impermanence of sound is impermanence, and sound itself is permanent, which is not correct. Because one wants to establish that sound itself and impermanence are one, the sound separated from impermanence is not established. Therefore, the refutation is self-contradictory. If sound is impermanent, why not abandon permanence? Saying it is the same as permanence, can those who follow the impermanence of sound establish the impermanence of impermanence? This is said to be a fault of the proposition or the subject and a concomitance, because it is self-contradictory. Fourth, the refutation after being the same as not saying: Before the reason of effort-born is said, sound is not impermanent. Because the impermanence of sound is established by that reason, it is argued that the impermanence of sound is newly established by the sign. If one says the reason, is sound impermanent, or does it seem like permanence? Before that, one argues that sound is not impermanent. If the sign is the object to be established, then the reason is said before, and if that is the case, because there is no reason, the object to be established will also become non-existent, so there is no need to establish it, because it merely produces that. In the refutation after being the same as not saying, this is also fabricated by oneself, thinking that it is not using the sign of meaning to establish meaning, but merely using the speaker's words to establish it, therefore, even if one says it is not established, it is established.
