Just as one thing cannot be definitely established as a reason for another. Because the sound of a vase cannot always follow. Using a sign that lacks both subsequent and reverse effects, using the distinction of its own nature to prove permanence and impermanence, because it is uncertain, there are two kinds of erroneous pseudo-reasons. Because that reasoning is definite in one aspect of the permanence and impermanence to be proven, but the first two combinations do not have it. The ninth is similar distinction inference: By stating the differences in the dharma of the base and the example, relying on the common dharma to infer, thereby pointing out the fault, this is also the refutation of similar distinction inference. For example, the dharma-characterized conch sound is impermanent because it arises from effort. For example, when stating "like a vase," if there is a common dharma here, then only the vase can be the common dharma, and because it is visible to the eye. Only that will become impermanent. Not sound, because it does not have these two dharmas. Also, only sound is permanent. Because it is not combustible and is audible. Not a vase, because it does not have these two. Like this, through the differences in the dharma of sound and vase, reversing what is to be proven to prove it, thereby refuting what is made as an example of common dharma, is similar distinction. That is, being similar by arising from effort and dissimilar by not being combustible, etc., this is similar distinction or inference. In this statement, there is also an uncertain error, because not being combustible, etc., cannot prove permanence, so it appears that way. The tenth is similarity without distinction: not universal, that is, using distinctions like audibility to prove, is also an uncertain reason, and cannot prove permanence. In order to push the dharma to be proven by the example to all become one, therefore, it is a refutation of similarity without distinction or without distinction. For example, the commonality of sound When the example is made a vase, then all the dharmas that are in the vase will be obtained in the sound, and in that case, the two will become one. If it is not like that, then it cannot be an example of that impermanence, because it is different. Even if you say that, this is not much different from similar distinction. Therefore, if the sound of the vase is considered to be impermanent, then the sound of the vase will become one, the reason being that one aspect is similar. The sky and the vase are also similar because they are objects, etc., why can't it be established? Therefore, is it similar from all aspects, or similar from one aspect?

If it were to be established, it would be too extreme. If everything were the same, then what is to be proven and the reason would be indistinguishable. For example, if using a vase as an example of the impermanence of sound cannot be established if there are differences, then similarly, using "produced" to prove impermanence cannot be established if there are differences, because the reason and the property must become one. Here, the sound of a vase is similar in terms of impermanence; if they do not exist separately, they would become one. Similarly, other similarities would also become one. If they exist separately, the results are the same; if they do not exist, there is no difference, and the argument lies in this. If there is no difference in similarity, it is too extreme, and all actions would become one. Therefore, saying that there is no difference between what is to be proven and the reason seems like stating non-establishment. Another statement is that for what is to be proven, such as the impermanence of sound, harmful properties such as being visible to the eye and not being audible are also the same as the reason, and saying that there is no difference seems contradictory. Just as using effort produced on a vase to prove the impermanence of sound, properties on the vase such as not being audible can also be used as a reason, so it should also prove that sound is permanent, which would be contradictory. But this is not contradictory, because it is not appropriate to consider all properties on the vase as indistinguishable. The flaw in such a reason seems accidental, not a real contradiction, because by refuting the latter aspect, it can prove harm to any aspect of the property to be proven or the collection of properties, and in reality, this reason does not harm what is to be proven, so it is not a contradiction. Eleventh, the same target: if the reason shows that there is something other than what one wants to prove, it cannot be established, which is the key to the same target. For example, using effort produced to prove that the sound of a conch shell is impermanent, if this effort produced is a proof of impermanence, then it must prove everything that is impermanent. Even without it, it can be proven by the reason that proves the impermanence of electricity, etc., which also shows that there is something other than what is to be proven. Even without it, impermanence can be proven, just as it is not a proof of electricity, etc., and neither is sound. That is the conclusion.
