. If one eliminates something merely because it is not seen, then a general term will be understood as a specific term, because the specific term does not see the general term. This is because a general term cannot understand a specific term, so it is not combined. Even for all clear differences, a general term alone is not applicable. A specific term is not other than a general term. Like this, from the power of context and force, from saying "a tree, just that," one can also understand it as a deer. Therefore, application is not unreasonable. If it is because it is not seen, then for self-differentiation, the general term will also be eliminated, if that is said. These two are not other, because the sound of context etc. is seen as reasonable to exist. Even so, one should doubt the appearance of the specific, because it is not exclusively existent. Then, how can there be confusion about the general term for the specific, and how can one doubt the difference from the general? It must be that the general term goes freely, and by the power of not abandoning the specific, that knowledge arises. If there is no application of the general term to the difference determined by the power of that which goes freely, then what is there to doubt? That is not co-existent, but depends on what the listener sees. If one does not want the general to appear, one says, "This is a palasha tree." If the listener abandons the general and wants to know the specific, he asks, "Did this tree come from the earth? Or did it come from the five elements?" Just as one answers, "It came from the earth." Although it shows according to the meaning, it is also by distinguishing other sounds, merely uttering the general term. If one doubts which meaning a sound is combined with, one does not exclude others, if one says that. Even if one sound has doubts about multiple meanings, it will be excluded by the listener's context etc. Aksha (藏文, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning). Because chariot, plow, etc. apply to multiple meanings, it is not certain which to exclude, if one says that. Whichever section it enters, it excludes which by that section, and that sound also guides the previous meaning. In the Buddhist view, even if one does not see the object other than the meaning of the sound, one separates and shows it in order to show the parts of one's own meaning. The relationship between meaning and sound is very easy, and there is no confusion from sound to meaning. Again, it is stated. For example, the five meanings of tree, earth, etc., which are spoken for the sake of the five meanings of tree, etc., are the cause of the determination of the former and the latter. For example, after saying tree, the other five, such as arising, etc., are naturally determined. The arising of earth determines the three, such as substance, etc. Substance determines the existent, etc., in sequence.

Reversing from the former, doubt arises about the latter and the latter. If only measurable things are mentioned, there will be no certainty about the four things of existing substance, earth-born, and trees, but doubt. If reality is mentioned, then there are three substances, etc. In order to eliminate the fabrication of additional parts, the sound must also be so much. The sound of the word "tree" and the words "earth-born," "substance," "existing thing," and "measurable" must be understood separately and definitively. If these sequences are reversed, then from the five meanings, doubt will arise about four, three, two, and one, while the first of the other sequences is the reason for the certainty of the latter and the latter. Therefore, sounds have the function of distinguishing parts. This is the intermediate verse. If the manifestation is infinite, even if it is expressed by excluding others, it is impossible to fully conform to the meaning. If you say so, that is not the case. All trees are either excluding non-trees or different from non-trees. In this way, what is not different includes all manifestations. What is the reason for this? Because the sound of the word "tree" excludes other things that pervade non-trees, it is the exclusion of others. The sound of the word "tree" shows the meaning that is different from non-trees, so it is understood in a way that is not different from its own manifestation. For things, it applies without error, because it does not apply to things that are different from itself, so it also applies exclusion. If you use the exclusion of others to express it again, then because it has no thing, it cannot understand things without error. If you say so, then the thing that shows the exclusion of others applies without error, because by excluding things that are different from that thing, it will never apply, so it will not be wrong. Because there is no end to the different self-characteristics, they cannot be used as objects of expression, and the nature of the category is attached to the exclusion. These exclusions exist in this exclusion, and through it can be understood, and there is no error, so grasp this. Just as in the world, form, sound, and blue apply to blue, but not to taste, etc. According to the exclusionists, there is no common point, and the manifestation depends on the difference, so this is unreasonable. The sound of the expression "tree" is understood independently in the way of proving the tree, rather than excluding non-trees, because the common point itself does not appear, so from what reason is it certain that this is the exclusion of others? In short, in the world, all sounds are connected to meaning through the power of things themselves, and the exclusion of others does not appear at all. If you say so. That's because in the world, things don't become different.
