Obstructing what comes from elimination lies in: eliminating one contradiction can establish another; but when refuting with inference, eliminating what is unestablished and uncertain, etc., cannot establish the other side. For example, refuting "because it is not a corporeal thing, sound is permanent" as uncertain, even if other things are eliminated, it cannot establish that sound is impermanent. If, like understanding rainfall by eliminating other causes of river swelling, such as melting snow, it is thought that it can also be established from elimination, then it is not so, because it is inferred from the nature or characteristics of river swelling, not by eliminating others. If thunder and lightning are separately pointed out as the cause of rainfall, it would also lead to hail, etc., becoming causes. Therefore, merely eliminating others cannot establish one's own system; river swelling is not through elimination, but through characteristics. The number of reasons for obstructing the other side is not fixed. Therefore, the contradiction between the subject of obstruction and the example, and self-contradiction, are not necessarily two, because pointing out the faults of incomplete aspects of the subject is also a cause of harming others. All appearances are only distinct entities without subsequent occurrence, because one main factor has not preceded, but is newly produced without precedent. And, one general has preceded, therefore subsequent occurrences are seen in all appearances, these two formulations, or, if one main factor has not preceded, then the results are produced as extremely distinct entities or extremely non-distinct entities, these two inferential formulations are also unreasonable, because the pervasion is certain and there is no subsequent occurrence in the example. The subsequent consequence of eliminating others, for those who want to establish the refutation of their own continuum or their own system, using the elimination of arising from the existence of one main factor as a harm, should not be used as a reason for establishment. Just as there are five aspects of establishing the main factor, if throwing out the inference of refutation, then the inference is not the five aspects themselves. Does this subsequent consequence come from eliminating one aspect of the other side, or all? The first aspect is unreasonable, because it cannot be determined to be clean, etc. Just like the five aspects, it is not the five aspects themselves, etc., because what comes from elimination comes from eliminating the other side, if it is all, then what comes from elimination can never be established. If it is thought that this subsequent consequence comes from eliminating each aspect of the debater, and thus arises after eliminating all, then there is no limit.

Thus it is said. If the opponent refutes each and every point of view of the debater, and if he does not want to add anything later, then the answer to the refutation will be endless, so the exclusion of its number will lead to infinity, so it is impossible to establish one's own position. This is an intermediate verse. From the point of view of establishing the debate, the meanings of unestablished, uncertain, and contradictory are fallacious reasons. Unestablished, such as "because it is seen by the eye, sound is impermanent." Uncertain, such as "because it is not embodied, it is permanent." There are two contradictions, the Vaisheshika school says: "Because it is taken by Ishvara, it is permanent." The Samkhya school says: "The effect exists in the cause, because the existing thing arises from it." The first contradiction, in the view of the Vaisheshika school, Ishvara's object, etc., includes two kinds, so it is uncertain, not contradictory. The latter, in the view of the Buddhists, is unestablished, or in the view of the Samkhya school, because there is no example, it is unique, not contradictory. Thus it is said. Only an example of unestablished, without explaining the differences and characteristics of unestablished, etc., as one side of the subject, and without explaining where the illusion arises. For the uncertain, there is also no explanation of the differences and characteristics. The uncertain is not common, because there is also uncertain, and for the contradictory, there are also those who are not confused, but it is not explained. The first contradiction, one applies equally to both sides, so it is uncertain, and one is unestablished or uncommon uncertain. The reason why the contradictory sign can establish the refutation, and the differences such as causing harm to the wish, etc., are not explained. According to the view of the logicians, there are four fallacies: accompanied by error, in accordance with the occasion, the same as what is to be proven, and beyond the season. The first is uncertain, that is, it not only exists in the property of the subject, but also exists outside the property of the subject. This is unreasonable, because it has no uncommon difference from the contradictory, unestablished, etc., it does not exist outside the property of the subject. The reason may become uncertain, because if the example shows an error in the example, it will become like that. The unestablished is not the first incomplete, but a fallacy, and later because what is to be proven is established, it is not a fallacy. According to Rigrel's view, the five fallacies of the logicians, the first one accompanied by error, has no difference from the uncertain.
