It is named 'moon' because it appears like the moon. It is said that the thirty-three natures are emptiness because they are to be abandoned. It is called 'mind' because it is the nature of entering the six consciousnesses. It is termed 'other-powered' because it arises from holding the six objects. Mind and other-powered, that is, the nature of entering consciousness, manifesting as the nature of mental factors, clarified by self-awareness, now will be thoroughly explained from the perspective of number and classification. Therefore, having vowed to gather the eight aggregates into three consciousnesses, it is to be clearly experienced through their respective mental factors, by self-awareness, as their respective natures. Since there is no mind entering together with the five sense consciousnesses, there are no six entering consciousnesses. Although there is a subtle mind inwardly focusing on the dharmas of the mind, it is named afflicted mind because it has not abandoned self-grasping and has no external entry. I think it is like that. Among them, these thirty-three natures, such as attachment and detachment, are to be known by embodied beings through their own inner self-awareness, that is, through direct self-awareness. The entering consciousnesses are: the five omnipresent, the five object-specific, the eleven virtuous, the six root afflictions, and the twenty secondary afflictions. Since they are endowed with forty-seven dharmas in accordance with them, why not explain from that perspective, but from the perspective of being endowed with thirty-three? It is true, because here, the unique differences of these have been ascertained, so although explained by thirty-three, just as the twenty secondary afflictions are separated from the six root afflictions, the nature of these is included therein. These are the nature of subtle imprints of secondary afflictions, etc., so they are included within them. The three, such as attachment and detachment, are included within the secondary affliction of regret, belonging to its category, because they are the nature of unity of mind. Nagarjuna and Asanga have all said so. Likewise, because the coming and going of the mind is the subtlety and grossness of thought and analysis, the peaceful conceptualization is non-harming and compassion. The three, such as fear, are included in the three virtues, such as non-attachment, etc. If there is fear, then non-attachment, etc., will consequently be established. The three, such as craving, and acceptance arise from desire. Non-virtuous things are: attachment, aversion, and secondary afflictions, as well as concealment, anger, jealousy, etc. The three, such as feeling, are the three omnipresent feelings. Hunger, thirst, touch, the three, such as awareness, are attention.

Therefore. Separately discerning and examining. Knowing shame is a virtuous mental factor. Compassion, non-harming. Love, the three are desire. Doubt and hesitation are the sixth of the root afflictions. Stinginess is stinginess or jealousy. Therefore, those are virtuous, non-virtuous, only the unspecified mental factors. In the name of increasing appearance, in the commentary of KLu-byang, it is said, "Appearance is clear." And so on, it is said, "Extreme emptiness is the nature of means," and so on. Like the sun, the appearance is clear. Appearance increases or is clear. Because forty natures are abandoned, it is extremely empty. Because it arises in the right channel, it is the nature of means. Because it is imputed from the four views of self, etc., and the five touches, etc., it is completely imputed. Because there is no difference between mind and mental factors, it is designated as mental factor. Afflicted mind is the view of self. Pride of self is two. Ignorance of self is one. Attachment to self is four, and touch, attention, feeling, perception, thought, which are the five omnipresent, possessing and not possessing others. How does it possess forty natures? It is true that the forty natures are included in the four afflictions. From attachment to anger is the view of self. From embrace to joy is ignorance of self. From hesitation to untruth is pride of self. From certainty to change is attachment to self, like a single action. KLu-byang said so. Those are mental factors, but they are also included in the root afflictions. Separation from desire and the middle of desire, similarly, great desires arise and come to mind, that is, mental wandering, and sorrow, etc., small, medium, and large, three each. Those are separation from suffering, etc., mind and mental distress. Abiding in the mind is peace, and conceptualization is agitation, fear, and the mind is afraid, small, medium, and large fear in the middle and extreme fear, attachment and attachment in the middle, attachment to objects small, medium, and large, and extreme attachment and taking others' property or objects. Hesitation about virtuous actions is non-virtuous. Hunger and thirst are also the same. Feeling and the middle of feeling, and the three of pleasure, pain, and equanimity. All of those, if distinguished by the difference of objects, there is a moment of extreme feeling. The knower and the doer and the done, that is the vidyadhara itself.
