If one thinks that only those with merit can be born there (Sukhavati), so non-Aryas cannot be born there, if one admits that those born there have such qualities as mentioned in the scriptures, then why not admit that the cause of being born there is also as mentioned in the scriptures? Such great qualities can be achieved with little effort, which should be attributed to the power of the Buddha's vows and wisdom, not just because of the maturation of sentient beings' own power. If someone says, "The saying that the Buddha's name can lead to rebirth in the Pure Land, etc., refers to other times," thinking that it refers to when one attains the state of an Arya to be reborn. But as the scriptures say, reciting the name of the Buddha can lead to rebirth in the Buddha's Pure Land, although reciting the name does not necessarily lead to immediate rebirth after death, it will definitely lead to rebirth at some time, so the Buddha's teachings will never be false. If faith and other qualities become strong, it is also possible for some to be reborn immediately after death, so there is no falsehood in saying that they are reborn after death, and it also refers to rebirth at other times. No one can say that reciting the name of the Buddha to be reborn in the Pure Land, etc., can only mature at other times, because sentient beings' karma, merit, and faculties have countless differences, and the Buddha's manifestations also have countless differences. It is also possible that those who hear the name of the Buddha can be reborn in the Pure Land immediately after death, because this cannot be denied by reason. If one thinks that because one does not see the special qualities of cultivation, etc., that can generate the realization of the Aryas, one cannot be reborn in the Pure Land immediately after death. If one cultivates the path in this life, and the realization of the Noble Path has manifested or has not yet manifested, and adds other small but significant causes for rebirth in the Pure Land, such as hearing the name of the Buddha, then there is no doubt about being reborn in the Pure Land. Here, the sutras specifically exclude those who commit the five heinous crimes and those who slander the Dharma, and the sutras say that even those who have doubts can be reborn in the Pure Land as long as they hear the name of the Buddha and generate faith. Therefore, the sutras say that all those who hear the name of the Buddha and make aspirations can be reborn in the Pure Land.

Thus, the ways in which noble beings hear the names of the Buddhas and make aspirations to be reborn have been explained in many ways. If it is assumed that the aspiration made in the time of ordinary beings must first attain the stage of a noble being, and then one can be reborn in Sukhavati, then why does the sutra say that one is reborn solely through the power of faith and aspiration? If one is not reborn solely through the power of faith and aspiration, but rather gradually attains the realization of a noble being after generating faith and aspiration, and then is reborn, then this sutra has a deeper meaning. If one thinks this way, then there is no reason to actually harm the meaning of the sutra that one can be reborn solely through faith and aspiration. If hearing the name of the Buddha and generating aspiration is due to the power of the Buddha's aspiration and wisdom, then solely through the power of these causes, at the time of death, one can see the emanation of the Sugata and generate faith in it. The five faculties, such as unfailing mindfulness, are transformed into power, and one can generate the realization of the noble path in a very short time. For example, just as a seed blessed by a mantra quickly ripens, even with little effort, one can quickly attain the realization of the noble path. If this were not the case, then one would doubt the profound methods of secret mantras, the profound qualities of knowledge mantras, and the profound miracles of the Sugatas, because it is impossible for them to easily accomplish great deeds with little effort. If it is possible, then the deeds to be accomplished are also possible. For example, just as the story of a lowly woman who died at the confluence of the Ganges (Ganga, Sanskrit: गङ्गा, Gaṅgā, literal meaning: flowing) and Yamuna (Yamuna, Sanskrit: यमुना, Yamunā, literal meaning: twin) rivers and was reborn in the form realm. Although they had not previously achieved quiescence, they achieved meditation at that moment through the power of the virtuous deeds generated by their strong mutual love, and were reborn as gods. Furthermore, at the time of the destruction of the kalpa, people effortlessly achieve meditation through the power of nature. Similarly, it is said that merely placing the hands of the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas on one's head can accomplish the distinction of qualities such as samadhi, which is difficult to achieve even after countless kalpas. Furthermore, the sutra also says that one accumulates countless accumulations, etc. If one thinks that the cause of accomplishing aspirations depends on accumulations, and that without great accumulations, one cannot be reborn through making aspirations, etc., then
