Its result manifests as suffering, like the shadow of a bird flying in the sky. Third, regarding distraction by wealth: generally speaking, one should distinguish between what to take and what to abandon regarding wealth. Specifically, one should abandon trivial actions. From the three aspects of the antidote to abandonment: First, one should cultivate faith, discipline, listening, and generosity, and rely on oneself to have stainless shame, and have embarrassment based on others, etc. Shakyamuni Buddha said that wisdom is the seven noble riches. This wealth can eliminate the temporary and ultimate poverty of oneself and others, and is of great significance. Other mundane wealth is impermanent, deceives, lures, and binds, so one should understand that it is meaningless. Second, in particular, one should abandon being distracted by watching dramas, gambling, and gatherings such as markets, abandoning diligence and being lazy, relying on bad friends, drinking alcohol, and wandering in other places at night, etc. These are the near causes of falling into the lower realms, and are also the causes of the decline of fame in this life, so one should abandon these six behaviors. Third aspect: there are two types, the benefits of the antidote and the faults of being separated from the antidote. First, among all wealth, having few desires and being content is the best and most excellent, as said by the teacher of gods and humans. Therefore, one should always be content. If one is content, even without stealing gold and other wealth, one can experience the result of true wealth, because the necessity of wealth is contentment. Second, those whose minds are peaceful and gentle are called "Deba." Those who have a lot of possessions suffer from accumulating, guarding, and losing them. Those who have few desires do not suffer in that way. For example, the greater the wealth of a dragon, the more crowns on the snake's head. How many heads do those great dragons have, and how much suffering from diseases caused by sand and gravel from their heads will there be. Fourth, in terms of enjoyment, one should abandon attachment to household, food, and sleep, in three aspects. First aspect: there are two types, what should be abandoned and what should be accepted. First, like an executioner who naturally associates with enemies, and like a queen who despises the household itself, one does not deliberately ask for even small things, but steals like a thief.

Like enemies, these three types of wives should be completely abandoned. Secondly, one who is like a sister, always in harmony with oneself; like a friend, pleasing to the heart; like a mother, wishing to benefit oneself; and like a servant, always under one's control—these are the reasons why each family does not decline, and should be revered like a family deity. Secondly, regarding food: food is like medicine, to be measured by reason or wisdom, just as the dosage of medicine for a disease, too much or too little is not good, it should be measured by reason. Moreover, it should be taken without desire or hatred, this is the general teaching. Specifically: "Not for fatness, not for arrogance." It means, to eat in order to strengthen the body through food, to be able to draw a bow, etc., to eat in order to generate strength, to eat for the fatness of strength; to eat for the sake of lasting youth, to eat for the fatness of youth; likewise, to eat for beauty, health, longevity, etc., to eat for the fatness of that and that. Also, after nourishing the body with nutritious food and gaining strength, one might think of enjoying other people's wives, or harming enemies, etc., if one thinks of doing these inverted things, it is eating for arrogance. Also, not for nourishment, that is, not to make the body's muscles plump with nutritious food, etc., because both fatness and nourishment will produce attachment, and arrogance will harm others, that is, eating out of hatred. Therefore, not for these purposes, but only to maintain the body that can practice the Dharma should one eat. Thirdly, regarding sleep: Called the essence of meaningful wisdom, therefore, do not sleep completely during the day, that is, at any time, and at night, divide the time into three parts, spending or reciting in the time without sleep in the first and last watches of the night. When sleeping in the middle watch of the night, do not let these sleeps be meaningless, turning into an indeterminate state, but sleep in order to maintain the body that can practice the Dharma, consciously and mindfully falling asleep in the intervals of the first and last watches of the night. At that time, in order to transform indeterminate sleep into virtuous deeds, during the day, also remember virtuous dharmas with the mind, and focus attention on the sign of light that dispels darkness, in order to wake up quickly.
