It is extremely unbearable. Second, some animals such as aquatic creatures die for pearls, sheep etc. for wool, elephants etc. for bones, blood and meat, and wild animals and tigers, leopards etc. for skins. Involuntarily, others such as horses are kicked in the feet, buffaloes etc. are kicked in the hands, donkeys etc. are whipped, elephants etc. are stabbed with iron hooks and sticks etc., and elephants etc. are beaten and used as slaves, thus suffering. Third, there are two types of pretas: concise and extensive. First, even if born as a preta, due to the lack of desire. The suffering that arises is uninterrupted, or continuous, incurable, or unhealed. Due to hunger and thirst, cold winters and hot summers, fatigue from running around for food, and fear from seeing people carrying weapons etc. The suffering that arises is extremely unbearable. Second, the extensive explanation is divided into two types: suffering and the cause of suffering. First, the nature of suffering, and the length of time experiencing suffering. First, some pretas have mouths as small as the eye of a needle, but their stomachs are as large as mountains, making them difficult to fill, thus suffering from hunger. Snot and other unclean things, even a little bit that is discarded uselessly. There is no ability to eat or seek food. Some have outer skin and inner bones that have become remnants, and dry flesh, naked without clothes. For example, like the tender shoots of palm trees, the tops of their heads are withered. Some every night, that is, every night, flames burn from their mouths. Even when eating, they eat sand that is burning with flames. Some who live in lowly species cannot even find pus and feces, that is, excrement, and blood and other unclean things. With hatred in their hearts, they take sticks etc. and beat or strike each other in the face, from the throat. They eat pus that has matured from lumps, or seek food, to sustain their lives. For the pretas, the hot summer. The moon also becomes hot, causing suffering, and in the cold winter, the sun also appears cold. Good trees, if seen by them, will become fruitless, and these pretas. Just by looking, rivers will dry up. Second, such interruptions

Without interruption, they rely on suffering. The bonds of actions of wrongdoing are such that some beings, bound by extremely strong ropes, will not die even after five thousand or ten thousand years, but only experience suffering. Second, the cause of suffering is that, in this way, the various sufferings of hunger and thirst experienced by the pretas, the reason for obtaining them in the same way or obtaining the same taste, is that those who like to be stingy think that they have nothing. The Buddha said that stinginess is not the behavior of the noble ones. It is said in the scriptures: A stingy person will be born in the realm of pretas, and even if he is reborn as a human, he will become poor. Fourth, regarding the devas. There are two types: teaching and explanation. First, even if one obtains the desired deva status and enjoys all the perfect enjoyments, and has great happiness, the suffering at the time of death is more intense than the previous happiness. After thinking in this way, virtuous people will not develop craving for the unstable heavenly realm that will eventually be exhausted. Second, when the devas die, the color of their bodies becomes unsightly, and they are not tired of their seats, no matter how long they have sat on them before, but at that time they will feel unhappy, the garlands of flowers used for decoration become old, the clothes become stained, and dust that has never appeared before will appear from the armpits and other parts of the body. These are called the five signs of death that appear when the devas of the heavenly realm die. It is like the signs of death that appear to herald death when people on earth die. Moreover, those who die and are reborn from the world of the devas, if there is not even a trace of virtuous karma to be reborn in the heavenly realm, then they will involuntarily be reborn in any of the realms of animals, pretas, or hells, and experience suffering. Fifth, the suffering of the asuras is that, even in the abodes of the asuras, due to the common karma of jealousy, they naturally hate the glory of the devas, so the suffering of the mind is very great, because jealousy brings mental unease.
