Those who do not even wish to learn, disturbed by the war of afflictions, far from the peace of mind, will wander in samsara. Second, regarding the actual recitation of the Pratimoksha, there are two parts: the act of requesting for the sake of the Sangha's harmony, and the actual recitation of the Pratimoksha. The first part is: Monks, please listen, that is, to inform. Now the Sangha performs Uposatha by restoring the precepts and purifying sins, that is, fasting. Among the two types of Uposatha, peaceful and harmonious, here is the harmonious Uposatha, the fourteenth or fifteenth of the five Uposathas. If the time for the Sangha's Uposatha has arrived and it is permissible to perform the Uposatha, then let the Sangha grant permission by not speaking. Now the Sangha will perform the Uposatha and recite the five Pratimoksha Sutras, namely the introduction, and the Parajika, the Sanghavasesa, the Aniyata, and the complete recitation. This is merely a request. In general, out of one hundred and one karmas, twenty-four are request karmas, forty-seven are request and two-matter karmas, and thirty are request four-matter karmas. Among them, this belongs to one of the twenty-four purely request karmas. That is what is said. The second part is divided into two parts: detailed explanation and conclusion. The first part is divided into five parts: reciting the introduction, reciting the Parajika, reciting the Sanghavasesa, reciting the Aniyata, and the complete recitation. The first part is divided into six parts: establishing the basis of the introduction, showing the method of establishing the introduction, the faults of impurity, the benefits of purity, the conclusion, and proclaiming the establishment. The first part is: Venerable ones, we should perform a harmonious Uposatha, in what way? That is, reciting the five Pratimoksha Sutras. Therefore, listeners, whoever has transgressions, confess in the manner of confession and learning. If there are no transgressions to be confessed, etc., then do not say any words of confession. If there is nothing to say, then I will regard the continuums of the venerable ones as completely pure, as vessels for the Uposatha. The second part is: For example, during the Uposatha, among the two, the confessor and the one being confessed to, the one being confessed to will ask separately whether they have seen or heard, and then the confessing bhikshu will answer that they have seen, etc. Similarly, for the Sangha of bhikshus listening to the Uposatha, are you all

It should be proclaimed three times, "Who is pure?" Third, if any bhikkhu in the assembly of bhikkhus listening to the Uposatha, like this, it is also proclaimed three times, if there is an unconfessed transgression, and knowingly does not confess, then this is a knowing transgression, which becomes a misdeed. Venerable ones, knowingly speaking falsely, the Blessed One said is a dharma that obstructs higher rebirth and definite goodness. Fourth, therefore, any bhikkhu who desires to be completely purified of transgressions, if he commits a transgression, he should remember and see it, and confess through confession and other means. If he confesses, then he will abide in the happiness of the present dharma. If he does not confess or repent, it will not be so. Fifth, venerable ones, I have finished reciting the cause and beginning of the Pratimoksha Sutra. Sixth, after reciting the beginning, I, the reciter, will ask you venerable ones, are you who are listening to this Uposatha completely pure, having not committed transgressions and not concealed them? This is the first question. Are you completely pure in this? Ask this twice, three times. The necessity of asking three times is that if there are few people, they may not have heard or remembered, and if there are many people, the time may have passed. If you venerable ones are completely pure, then remain silent like this, and it will be regarded as such. Second, there are six aspects to expounding the Parajika: general explanation in the precepts, inferring the basis for expounding the Parajika, detailed explanation of each definition, conclusion, the faults of impurity, and proclamation of the classification. First, when Upasaka gathers the Vinaya, he summarizes the precepts into three The general precepts that summarize the general meaning of transgressions in verses, such as "Knowledge and seeds, etc." Second, the actual meaning is summarized in verses, such as "Holding semen, engaging in sexual intercourse, offering, and matchmaker." Third, the intermediate precepts are the supplementary meanings summarized in verses. Among them, the Parajika is summarized in the actual meaning precepts, such as impure conduct, stealing, not killing people, and the four dharmas that should not be done, such as lying, are the occasions for expounding the Parajika.
