Now proclaiming. The first has three: the first set of ten, the second, the third. The first has three: the general indication in the sutra, the basis for relinquishment and downfall, the explanation of their individual characteristics. The first is: Regarding discipline, the relinquishment of holding, the relinquishment of separation, the relinquishment of placing, the relinquishment of entrusting, the relinquishment of taking robes, the relinquishment of requesting robes, the relinquishment of requesting upper and lower garments that are permissible to request, the relinquishment of requesting the estimation of the value of robes, the relinquishment of requesting individual estimations, the relinquishment of entrusting. The second is: Venerable ones, these thirty dharmas of relinquishment and downfall are proclaimed every half month from the Pratimoksha Sutra. The third has ten, the first is the relinquishment of holding: A bhikshu of this Dharma, having completed the sewing, making, and dyeing of robes, due to early or late summer, before the fifteenth day of the first and middle months of spring, if he obtains extra robes, except for cotton cloth, without proper examination, without permission, he should hold them. If he holds them beyond this time, at the dawn of the eleventh day, he commits a relinquishment and downfall. The second is the relinquishment of separation: Again, a bhikshu having completed the sewing of robes, if he obtains extra robes, even for one night, any of the three robes—the kasaya, the upper garment, the lower garment, or the cotton cloth—that he has blessed himself, or outside the boundary where the robes are, until dawn, if he separates from them, unless the Sangha grants permission, he commits a relinquishment and downfall. The third is the relinquishment of placing: A bhikshu having completed the sewing of robes, if he obtains an untimely robe and wants to accept it, then that bhikshu should accept any of these seven kinds of robes: silk-cotton cloth, cotton cloth, shana cloth, zarma cloth, dugula cloth, kotampa cloth, sun-dried cloth. After accepting it, if it is sufficient or the robe is sufficient, he should quickly make it into a robe and bless it before holding it. If it is not sufficient, that is, not enough, and there is no sufficient cloth to supplement it, then that bhikshu should place that robe for one month, without permission. If he places it beyond this time, at the dawn of the thirty-first day, he commits a relinquishment and downfall.

It is a Patayantika offense. The fourth, the Patayantika of causing to wash, is: Again, like a regular guest Bhikshu, for a Bhikshuni who is not a relative within seven generations, he causes the old items that have been used in any of the three seasons, such as the blessed Dharma robes and cushions, to be washed in water, or causes them to be dyed with colors, or causes them to be beaten like patting with ashes, it is a Patayantika offense. The fifth, the Patayantika of receiving, is: Again, like a close friend Bhikshu, any Bhikshu receives woolen clothes etc. from a Bhikshuni who is not a relative within seven generations, except for exchanging good and bad clothes, at the time of receiving the clothes, it is a Patayantika offense. The sixth, the Patayantika of begging, is: Again, like a close friend Bhikshu, any Bhikshu goes to male householders who are not relatives or the wife of the householder to beg for clothes, except for the time of permission, it is a Patayantika offense. The so-called time of permission is: the Dharma robes of the Bhikshu are robbed by thieves, or lost like the loss of clothes, or the clothes are burned by fire, or the clothes are blown away by the wind, or the clothes are washed away by water, for that training, that time is the time of permission. The seventh, the Patayantika of what can be begged, is: Again, if the Bhikshu's clothes are robbed by thieves, or the clothes are lost, or the clothes are burned, or the clothes are blown away by the wind, or the clothes are washed away by water, he should go again to the householder who is not a relative or the wife of the householder to beg for clothes. If for that Bhikshu, there is a Brahmin or a faithful householder who generously donates a lot of clothes due to the occasion, wanting to offer, that Bhikshu should also receive from that donor, together with the upper garment and the lower skirt, ultimately completely and fully. If he receives more than this, it is a Patayantika offense. The eighth, the Patayantika of agreed begging, is: Like a close friend Bhikshu, for the sake of the Bhikshu, a householder who is not a relative or the wife of the householder agrees, preparing the price of clothes, gold etc., I will use these prices of clothes, gold etc., to buy this or that kind of clothes such as wool etc., if a Bhikshu named so-and-so comes, I will give him clothes suitable for the Bhikshu to wear in due time. If for that Bhikshu, he has not been informed beforehand, that is, not invited
