Then, it is necessary to make a soul-peg for the deceased's parents and three sons. For males, write the name of the deceased, the name of the deceased's father, the name of the father's father or grandfather, and the name of the grandfather's father or great-grandfather on sandalwood, yew, or fir. If you don't know, it is enough to write only the father's name and the grandfather and great-grandfather's names. On willow or poplar, write the names of the deceased's mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. On peach, catalpa, or pomegranate trees, write the names of the deceased's son, grandson, and great-grandson. If there is no specific name, write the name of "so-and-so's youngest son," and the names of the son, grandson, and great-grandson. The shape of the peg is square at the top and gradually tapers to a point at the bottom, or it can be made round at the bottom. At the top of the peg, write the five syllables: ཨོཾ་(Tibetan, Om, oṃ, perfection), ཨཱཿ(Tibetan, Ah, āḥ, undefiled), ཧཱུྃ་(Tibetan, Hum, hūṃ, subjugation), སྭཱ་ཧཱ་(Tibetan, Svāhā, svāhā, accomplishment). And the tortoise mantra: ཨོཾ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལི་མོ་ཏ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།(Tibetan, oṃ mahākālī motaye svāhā, oṃ mahākālī motaye svāhā, Om, Great Black Mother, Foolish One, Svāhā). It is best to write only the seed syllables of the five elements. Detailed instructions on the practice of the soul-peg are found in other documents. Alternatively, a box can be made from Grawa wood or willow, and vermilion and ink mixed inside. Like above, write the names of the deceased's ancestors, etc., and put them inside. In either case, write after those names: "May you occupy this good burial ground, propagate descendants, and be auspicious!" Mix these items with the five precious substances, barley, medicines that do not harm the earth deities and nāgas, and especially it is very important to put in the bones of the deceased. If there are no bones, use a clod of earth dug from under the previously designated site, and the deceased's scented clothes, old ornaments, etc., as substitutes. If someone dies in a foreign land and there is no skull, use a palm-sized Kawa Kabe (possibly referring to a relic or substitute). If there is none, make a head, mouth, and eyes on a white dumpling, and draw a Yungdrung symbol (卐) in vermilion on the crown. Put or paste a piece of paper with the deceased's name and clan inside as a substitute. The soul-trees for each bone are: rhododendron or Kek tree, the soul-tree of Kham is Kyerbawa tree; door or Jime, the Kham one is yew; Gong or Dongsa, the Kham one is female yew; meat and Madala iron, the Kham one is Yaba tree; barley or Uchu, the Kham one is fir, as stated in other astrological books. The livestock belonging to these souls are, in order: sheep, goat, deer, wild donkey, and yak. Wrap these items with the soul-peg in silk of the color corresponding to the element of the bone. Do not take wool from the hands of an inauspicious person.

Wrap it with white and bury the tomb in a good place. Or write the name of the deceased's life-force livestock on the outside of the thigh bone tube of the aforementioned livestock, or take out the bone and write the name on silk, etc., as before. That is, when actually burying the deceased, put the deceased's bones together with treasures, medicines, grains and other auspicious items into the pit, and drive the life-force stake there, or put the life-force stake and items together in a pottery stone box, bury it in the pit, and seal the mouth well. If you have already sent the deceased's body to the tomb and want to place the bones in another good place through this ritual, do as mentioned before. If the previous tomb is not good and you move to another place, then follow the relocation ritual in other examples. The method of placing the life-force stake and good land together is as before. That is, after going to that good tomb, visualize yourself as the deity. Prepare white torma, exquisite decorations, and a real land sheep, or a model of a sheep, etc., and offerings of land offerings represented by gold and other things within your ability. Bless it with mantras and mudras to become an ocean of desirable qualities, and offer it to the owner of that land, the land god and the Naga. In order to obtain that land, this is essential for carrying out work that depends on the land, such as houses and tombs. Suppression, etc., does not require requesting land. The detailed and concise versions of the ritual for requesting land are explained elsewhere. After requesting the land, knead the tsampa according to the method, and dig the land with antelope horns, etc. Drive in the life-force stake. Visualize the life-force relying on that place, abiding and feeling happy. Recite the words of truth. Recite the heart mantra. Seal the pit, recite auspicious words and scatter flowers. In this way, the deceased's life-force can be peaceful, the living's luck will increase, and it will become auspicious, so it is very important. In addition, the ritual to remedy improper burial is: go to that tomb on an auspicious day such as a constellation, and on the tomb, place the gold, turquoise, and barley that can be afforded as a reward for the ritual master on the base, and place a real turtle or its shell. If not, put a model. In addition, prepare various offerings such as white torma, wine, food essence, models, glassware, silk, etc., as well as angry ransom and ransom instruments. The ritual to dispel the enemies of the directional elements. Place a skull filled with white food and a piece of iron in the east. Place a water vessel in the south.
