Recite the root mantra and "All the demons, poisons, and curses of the Nagas, AGNI YE JVALA RAM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning)," and contemplate without any object of focus. The Naga images return to the Naga's abode, thereby being liberated from the Naga's afflictions. This is extremely important because in the degenerate age, antagonizing the Nagas causes much harm, or being cursed by others, or because of oneself and past karma and sudden events antagonizing the Nagas, if the Nagas cause harm, then those diseases, even after a long time, are difficult to cure by other means, but through this method they can be easily pacified and healed. As it says in the Vajra Subterranean Tantra, when asked how to cure the diseases, leprosy, etc. of Nagas, Yakshas, and earth lords, the Buddha replied, "The Sutra Pitaka cannot reverse the maturation of karma, but the Mantra can reverse it, therefore the Mantra is far superior." The afflictions of the Nagas are mainly ignorance, therefore greed and hatred are also strong. Due to ignorance, they are sleepy; due to hatred, they do not give up seven rebirths; due to greed, they enter and remain in the body of greed without leaving. Merely seeing a degenerate Naga causes disease. The three families of Nagas cause disease merely by touching. The Naga servants enter from the upper three gates and devour the essence of the body. It is said that the method of curing such diseases is the secret mantra tantra and the authentic oral instructions of Guru Padmasambhava. Therefore, this Naga offering ritual with all its components was written by Mipham Jamyang Gyepai Dorje on the second day of the ninth month of the Earth Pig year of Rabjung. This ritual can be applied to any Yidam, but it is best to rely mainly on Hayagriva, Vajrapani, Simhanada, or Supreme Giver Manjushri Vajra. Auspicious! The outer eight treasures of the Nagas: three whites, three sweets, coral, sea foam. The inner eight treasures: five precious jewels, three grains. The supreme eight treasures: three yogurt products, water.
