The Profound and Forceful Method of Rain Invocation: In a skull cup of ill repute, accumulate and pour in whatever meats, hearts, bloods, and poisons can be found. With the samadhi of a wrathful deity, torment the dragons from their vital points. Bind with a fierce mantra, the mantra of the Eight Cloud Kings, reciting: OM GHILI GHILI BHARSHAYA GARSHAYA OM OM BHARSHAYA SAMAYA HUM HUM HUM HO HO HO PHAT PHAT PHAT SVAHA. Forceful rain invocation protects oneself and one's retinue from hail, bestowing the dragons' protection. Thus, hail will not fall. If it does not fall, it means there is no local dragon lord, so move elsewhere. Afterward, perform dragon treasure retrieval, etc. If the earth deity is malevolent and harbors ill will, one must be cautious in protecting oneself when performing forceful activities. Likewise, with the mantras "THUM THUM CHEM CHEM," etc., mentioned earlier, and the dragon-summoning mantra, visualize oneself as a dragon and recite: OM TRISHYANG TRAZHI ZHINGYI CHIWARNALE LONG SOANG BHISHA PATSA PATSA HUM PHAT. Similarly, the mantra for gathering clouds involves visualizing one's own breath and the breath of the dragons transforming into clouds, reciting: NAMO BHAGAVATE BAGTIRAYA TADYATHA TATHA ANEANG ANALE BISHU SHITAANG DHEBE RABE RADAM DAM THIB THIB SVAHA. Again, recite in this manner: HUM HUM SAB SAB HUM HUM SIB SIB SOB SOB ANG. Thus. Furthermore, as stated elsewhere, the mantra for continuous rain after it has started can be recited intermittently: SHAR SHAR PHO, SIL SIL PHO, NAGA PHO. By pressing down on and tormenting the dragons with samadhi, they will tremble and cause rain to fall. If one does not torment them sufficiently with fierce substances and focus, it may be difficult to cause rain, or if one desires to cause heavy rain, one can recite the mantras from the fierce section as appropriate, according to the situation, without any hindrance. If the clouds are scattered by the wind, the method for suppressing the wind is as follows: Visualize the wind deity riding a yak, brandishing a banner, place it inside a new earthenware pot, summon and dissolve it within. Turn the pot upside down and place it in a pit. Press down on it with a cross and a tsa-tsa. Visualize suppressing the wind deity and recite this mantra: CHARAYA CHURAYA CHARPAYA CHARPAYA TITI LANAN KYANG TITI LAM LAM NAN. Reciting this is sufficient. Even without a physical representation, if the visualization is clear and the mantra is recited, one can slightly suppress the wind. Afterward, make offerings, pray, and bid farewell to the wind deity. This is a profound instruction on rain invocation, a compilation of various Kagyu treasure teachings, very profound. Jamyang Dorje wrote this down on the twenty-first day of the seventh month of the Earth Dog year, during a teaching and practice gathering.

Gathered in the isle, auspicious and complete! Furthermore, the exceedingly profound method of rainmaking: Go to a place where there is a spring, rich in nāgas, where the sound of past arrivals can be heard, facing southwest, west, and east. Where the water source is not cut off, deep and not mute, where plants and forests are flourishing, and the water flows well. Face yourself towards the northwest, arrange the mandala of the Eight Nāgas. Offer white sweet torma to the Three Jewels, Dharma Protectors, and local deities. Arrange nāga medicine, bath water torma, and Vāsuki. In the center of the mandala, from dough mixed with nāga medicine, create a nāga figure with a serpent's tail and a raised serpent's hood. The right hand holds a serpent lasso waving in the sky, the left hand holds a leaf from a poisonous tree at the heart, with a wrathful face. On eight lotus petals, place the Eight Nāgas, with raised serpent hoods and intertwined serpent tails. Finally, create substitute figures of frogs, snakes, horses, sheep, scorpions, etc., as available. Visualize yourself as the Lord of Secrets. Visualize inviting and dissolving the nāgas into the figures in front, entrusting them with the task of bringing rain. From your heart, send forth a Garuda of activity, visualizing it seizing the necks of the nāga demons in the ocean and lakes, sometimes tightening and sometimes loosening. The mantra is: Oṃ nag po ti pa tsa yaḥ nāga ra tsa dun ling rab rab dza dzaḥ dun gyi a ti nag po srog la ya ya ma ma shar shar phob sal sal phob phraṃ phraṃ phob. Recite this mantra, visualizing the nāgas churning the ocean, clouds and mist rising, filling the sky, and causing heavy rain to fall. Make many nāga tormas and Vāsukis. Give offerings to the nāgas. Entrust them with the task, commanding them with truthful words. In this way, the best will bring rain in seven days, the medium in fourteen days, and the least in twenty-one days. If the nāga forces are strong or discordant, then the method of subjugation: Inside a human leg bone or a horse's leg bone, place: menstrual blood from a widow, blood from a barren woman, blood from a black horse and a black dog, blood from a sword, blood from a gazelle, potent poison, white and black mustard seeds, musk, and the ten medicinal substances. Seal it tightly with beeswax, ensuring that it does not leak water. Twist together two strands of thick yak hair rope, or if unavailable, make a rope from the beard hair of a wild goat, and tie it to a thorn bush four finger-widths or a hand-span above the lake or the blue-green spring. The yogi should protect himself, and if unable to do so, smear peacock feather powder, musk, and a mixture of the three great medicines on the openings behind the ears. Face yourself outwards.
